Republican Pretends to be Homeless Another Stunt

Headline:

GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Goes Homeless to Highlight Poverty

Woopy-freaken-doo! I find this kind of insulting. He goes out for one lousy week, pretending he is homeless, with a camera crew following him. Then asks around for a job at random places. He takes with him $40 bucks. Big deal.

He knew he had a place to go after the week was done, and I suspect the people he asked for a job sensed there was something going on. He doesn't know real homelessness. FAKER.

Once I went to San Diego back in 1982. I had a bus ticket and $100. When I got there I got a room, and started looking for a job. One week later I was out of money. Out of a room, and still no work. I lived on the street for 3 months. I collected cans every day while I looked for work. I lived in Balboa Park. I got messed with by the police, because I was "suspicious" looking. WTF is that? I challenge this clown to live on the street for 1 month, and leave your wallet at home. Leave your camera crew too! Some people have been there for years. Some people don't have the luxury of knowing that when a week is over they can go back to a life style of comfort and plenty.

I couldn't find work to save my life back in that trying time of mine, and times weren't near as bad as they are now. It was my friends who helped me out of it. One of them loaned me $50 so I could get a taxi driver permit, and another let me live with her until I could afford my own place. I was extremely lucky. Most are not so lucky.

He said "We know how to invest in water". Invest all you want, but you'll still not have any if it isn't raining or snowing. Blame crop failure on global climate change, not the Democratic Party. Republicans are historically on the side of the very people who exacerbate climate change, big oil. Maybe he should focus his attention on the root cause of the problem. Greedy big business, and corrupt government officials.

I knew a guy who worked in the fields harvesting vegetables. I met him at the place I got radiation therapy when I had neck cancer. He had melanoma from his ear down the side of his neck. Maybe the people are better off in the long run not picking produce for slave wages. At least they may avoid the agony of skin cancer.

You know the old saying about walking a mile in their shoes? He barely took one step.

Before he tries any stunt like that again, he should sell everything he owns to pay his bills. He should wait until he is evicted from his home. He should wait until all his savings are gone. Then maybe, just maybe he could relate. But just like the man who asked Jesus what he needs to do to get salvation, and was told to sell all he has and give to the poor, he will not do it. He can not do it.

The President: A Hard. Road to Walk

In this Facebook post, a reply was made that deserves to be repeated. Scroll down the page to read this thoughtful reply.

 Facebook Post

By Alan McEwen July 30, 2014

He has definitely had a hard. hard road to walk. Conventional wisdom says a president should try to work in a bi-partisan fashion. Giving concessions in exchange for cooperation. He was treated with rabid hostility before and after he took office, with slanderous accusations that he wasn't truly American, and still is today. Heading into such a strong opposition, with the accusation of being a foreigner who had illegally usurped power, I think he did the sensible things. Diplomatically chose a few personal policy issues to pursue, and concentrated on fixing a disastrously bad economic situation..on several levels. Losing the house in 2010 should not have been as terribly bad as it turned out to be, but the backwards folks who seized political power slapped away his outstretched hand for ANY compromise. They had one primary goal. To make him a one term president. After trying to do the RIGHT thing, as I believe he was right to do, he began taking matters into his own hands. Pushing the power of his office to it's maximum possibilities, and some would argue, over the limit.

I may not be happy with the way his presidency has turned out, but I cannot fault him for anything he's not done, or tried, except for being too much of a family man. There's is a small, but almost negligible possibility he may have had some more compromise if he had spent more time wining and dining congressional leaders, instead of spending time with his young family after office hours, in the way the Reagan stroked Tip O'Neill. Since the likelihood of that being successful is SO small, I don't even begrudge him that. I only wonder.

The folks on the other side of the aisle, consumed with childish hate, pursued a reckless course of charred earth strategy, that made us all suffer longer than we should have, and still plagues us today. Their embrace of delusion, hatred, anti-intellectualism, and pettiness have been a poison we are lucky to have survived without collapse of social order. As the President has done a few times, letting them know their policies will not win, we the people need to take a firm stand, and add the power of our vote to his voice and actions. If we hold this line, letting them know that we will not vote for such destructive personalities, they will be forced to change. Compromise. Not just push relentlessly for the goals of the rabid folks in their base who do one thing well. Vote. Don't give those bastards another inch, is what I say. By all means, if anyone thinks their republican candidate is more honorable, intelligent, capable, etc...vote for that person. But get rid of the Yay-hoos who are destroying our country for very selfish reasons. This isn't rocket science. We know who they are, and what they've done.

Boehner Proves Once Again He Lies

Here we go again with the misinformation by none other than the leader of the Republican Party, John Boehner. In this video clip he says "This whole talk of impeachment is coming from the President's own staff!"

 The Politics of Impeachment
The Politics of Impeachment

That's not the way I see it. It looks like Sara Palin and other Republicans started this over the unfounded accusations of the President abusing Executive Orders. Some see the suing of the President by Boehner over something Boehner wanted in the first place, a delay in the Employer Mandate for the ACA, as a path to impeachment.

Mr. Boehner has no problem with telling a bald face lie because he knows that people do not do any fact checking. He knows that most of his supporters only listen to 30 second sound bites, that are crafted to elicit a knee jerk reaction. He depends on people relying on such farcical news networks like Fox News. We all know Fox News network has no problem with lying. They even went to the supreme court over it, and the court upheld that right to lie.

The Republican Party is taken over by liars who pander to the Tea-Party, and to uninformed voters. Also the rely on racism to cause people to support their lies, because they feel like the means to an end are justified, if it means it will ruin the President. Even if the means are lies.

Beware the lying politician. Take refuge from them by getting the truth. The truth is the most deadly enemy of the corrupt politician. Corruption runs rampant in congress now a days. End that corruption in November by voting for someone other than the liars that are in office now.

About the Israel-Gaza Conflict

I have reserved my comments on this tricky subject, and been silent to long. Now I speak out and voice my opinion. As the reader takes this in, I warn you there are harsh words for all involved, and there is also hope. Bare with me as I go through this. Believe me, it causes me very much pain, and tears to even write any of this, or to think of it. But we must buck up, and try. All of us must try if we really want an end to the conflict. Here is my effort.

Let us not forget there has been conflict between the Arab world and Hebrews for a very long time. Hebrews were also persecuted during the Crusades by Christian Crusaders who had been told they would receive forgiveness for any crime should they Crusade in the Middle-East. Then a slaughter of non-christens began in Europe even before the Crusading Armies arrived to fight Islam.

All along the Mediterranean Sea both Christians and Muslims regularly kidnapped each other's people and sold them into slavery a thousand years ago.

Even Hitler and the Arabs made alliances and plans for the extermination of the Hebrew people. Check out this Wiki piece I just found to be more enlightened.

"Although the Mufti may be the most well-known Arab collaborator with Nazi Germany, there were other influential Arab and Muslim political leaders who made common cause with the Germans. Hassan al-Banna, an ally of the Mufti who founded the Muslim Brotherhood in 1928, openly acknowledged the common interests with National Socialist anti-Jewish and anti-Zionist politics, and actively collaborated with the Nazis:

Hitler received Saudi Arabian ruler Ibn Saud’s special envoy, Khalid al-Hud al-Gargani.[4] Earlier in this meeting Hitler noted that one of the three reasons why Germany had warm sympathies for the Arabs was:… because we were jointly fighting the Jews. This led him to discuss Palestine and conditions there, and he then stated that he himself would not rest until the last Jew had left Germany. Kalid al Hud observed that the Prophet Mohammed … had acted the same way. He had driven the Jews out of Arabia ….[5]"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relations_between_Nazi_Germany_and_the_Arab_world

Then after WWII the Hebrews were granted territory by the victors. To do so many Palestinian Muslims and Christians had to be displaced. Heavy resentment built up even further.

The Arab-Israeli War broke out in 1948 in a bid to destroy the Jewish State, and bring things back to pre-war conditions. Israel prevailed.

I remember before the walls were built in the mid 1990's, suicide bombers made regular appearances in Israel. Hamas or another faction took blame, and/or credit for the bombers, deserved or not. Israel began to build walls around the Palestinian regions. All the while Israel grabbed more and more land to build new settlements. Often demolishing homes and destroying olive groves in the process.

More resentment, and more bombings. Each side seemed to double down each time. It seemed that all sides did the thing that would be sure to enrage the other side. Like a fire that feeds itself, the violence has grown into what we see today.

To make matters worse, some Christian factions in the United States gave support, money and encouragement to Israel for one reason and one reason alone. Because they believe that the Temple must be rebuilt on the Temple Mount before Jesus will return to the Earth. Most well informed Muslim knows of this too. They also had built a Mosque on that very spot, because they also claim it as a holy place. We all know what would happen if Israel turned its bulldozers upon that Mosque so they could rebuild their ancient temple. It would be a blood bath. It could even lead to world war.

I'm not trying to shame any body here, or am I trying to point an accusing finger. What I'm trying to do is to shed light on this very complex problem, and hopefully understand it, and find some kind of solution! Yeah, who am I to suppose I might have an answer. I'm no better, or worse than any other.

Still I have an idea, and believe there is only one way out of this that will ever work.

The immediate halt of all hostilities by all parties, and the allowance of unfettered access by humanitarian organizations.

The unfettered access to border crossings without restrictions based on race, religion or any other petty reason.

The halt of all new settlements by Israel, and maybe dismantling a few.

The halt of all new entries to citizenship in Israel based on Jewish ancestry.

The establishment of a real secular government in Palestinian territory, and the establishment of secure borders for them.

A pledge by any future government in Palestinian territory or Israel, or any other party in that region to never again use suicide bombers, rockets, aircraft, troops, mortars or any other means of terror or violence against any persons or parties. Furthermore a pledge that both sides will work together to apprehend any person or parties who commit an act such as the ones described, and bring them to justice before the criminal court in the Hague. (we can not have Arab or Jew be judge of one another)

We need an end to Christian meddling in that region for the purposes of the rebuilding the Temple on the Temple Mount. Even make it unlawful to do so.

All parties must accept the idea that it is not the state that has a right to survive. It is the people who have that right, and the state is there to facilitate and ensure that survival.

These are the things that come into my mind as I ponder this tragic situation. It has gone on far to long. Any truce or other action by the Palestinians or the Israeli government, or any one else is doomed to failure if that basic principal is not realized by them, and taken to heart.

What's it going to be? Fight for another 50 years, 100 years or drag this out another thousand years? It will not stop using the devises of violence, terror, death and fear of each other. You should do as you say you want. End it now.

I'm not going to get sucked into the blame game on this. There is plenty to go around. So let us wipe the slate clean, and keep it that way. Muslim, Jew and Christian can live together in peace if they really want to. It is so simple, it is laughable. Just quit trying to convert each other all the time. You all know that only pisses people off! Leave well enough alone for humanities sake. I do mean that too!

Humanity as a whole is suffering because of your stubborn fighting without end. The world's people who are not involved with your squabble will not allow it to go on forever ether. Just as soon as your fight against each other in the Mid-East starts having serious detrimental effects on the rest of the worlds economies, they will rise against you.

This is one of the reasons I am so much on the band wagon of world peace. You know me. One Earth, One People. I've said it over and over again. I'll say it until the day I die, and hope someone repeats it, and the world's people start living it.

Aren't you tired of the stagnation all this has brought us? We, as a species don't have to live like this. There is a better way to conduct our affairs. We do need a New World Order, but not the one envisioned by some greedy capitalist, or despot, or other corrupt self serving persons.

It all starts with each of us. That goes for you brothers and sisters of humanity there in Gaza and Israel. I call on them to reconsider their options. Put an end to this madness. Stop the flow of tears and of blood. Start living in universal harmony and cooperation today.

6 degrees of separation? Perhaps my words will make it to some person who has the influence to put them to good use. Maybe you and I, as just regular people can do what they can not. Sometimes leaders come from the lowest rungs of society. Boy could we use one now!

$1000 for a Night out

I thought it might be nice to check out for a concert to go to next month. I found out Kiss & Def Leppard are playing Friday, August 22, 2014 at 7:00 PM. Cool, I thought to my self. Then I looked up ticket prices.

I couldn't believe what I seen! I could get a ticket for $35 if I want to sit on the lawn. The lawn looks like it is so far away from the stage I would need a high power telescope to see. Then I looked at other tickets. I found out to get a ticket for a section next to the stage, it would cost a whopping $473, WTF? That doesn't even include $35 VIP parking. Double WTF?

People actually spend $500 to go to a concert? Make that $1000 if you bring a date? That is an outrageous amount of money to spend on a concert! It is obscene to spend that kind of money on one night out, when people are sleeping in the street. $1000 could house and feed a person for a month!

I'm not trying to begrudge rich people their good time. I just think this is an outlandish example of how societies priorities have gotten so screwed up! I bet you any amount of concert tickets that there are people who will spend $1000 on a night out, and then the next day casually walk by a beggar and scoff, or deride them.

I remember the first Concert I ever went to. It was REO Speedwagon. It only cost $5.00 at the door to get in. I remember seeing Emerson lake & Palmer, and it only costing me $25 for me and my date. Same with Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and ELO. Good times for sure.

Now that was back in the early to late 1970's. It seems like corporate greed has taken hold with an iron fist. Maybe I'll never go to another concert again. Maybe I'll just satisfy my music hunger at a local establishment, with a local band. Screw them other greedy corporate thralls.

A Nation and a World Divided Can Not Thrive

Some times I look out over America, and I see a divided nation. Divided even more so than during the civil war in ways.

As far as the United States of America is concerned, ether we are all in it together, or we don't have a country. That goes for our world too!

Let us stop the bickering in the halls of all governments, and work together to make our nations, and world a place where all can live in peace and prosperity.

The only way to do that is to put massive effort into the industrialization of our solar system. That should start with the Moon, asteroids and Mars. Couple that with a world wide system to educate all persons who are willing to undertake this challenging mission.

Our world has grown too crowded. in less than half a century our population has grown 4 fold. This situation has caused humans to loose the ability to expand and grow without turning on each other.  People make causes and group themselves into factions. This is an unacceptable situation, that puts all of us at risk. If you don't believe it, just look at Iraq, Gaza, Ukraine, and the other hot spots on all continents. Also look at the degradation of our environment caused by the energy use of over 7 billion people. Humanity can not support a path like the one we're on without extreme consequences.

If the world's people would only work together on this grand vision, all of us can have the prosperity we dream of. If humanity will work to industrial our solar system, our technology will move forward by leaps and bounds because we are out there learning what we can not while we are confined in the Earthly gravity well. Look what happened with electricity! Humanity got a grasp on it, and through its use and experimentation, our technology skyrocketed. Look what happened during the Apollo era! Because we endeavored and worked for that goal our technology advanced by leaps and bounds. The same would happen if our species made the industrialization of the solar system the normal course of affairs.

I guarantee you that any plan our nations law makers come up with to fix a broken economy, that excludes the industrialization of space, is doomed to eventual failure. So as it goes with the United States, so goes it with the rest of our world. Any effects felt here or there is felt by all.

So don't be fooled by people who say we must fix the problems we have on Earth before we go to the stars. We can not fix our Earthly problems without going to the stars.

The time is growing short. If humanity will not reign in their avarice, and hatefulness, and greed, none of it will happen. Our species will slowly spiral into barbarism. The very foundations of our civilization is at risk.

Call on our leaders to support a massive effort of world wide education, and solar system colonization.

Paul Ryan's Anti-poverty Plan is a Dressed up Pig

One of the reasons I do not trust the Republicans. In this interview Paul Ryan admits that the poverty level is the highest it has been in a generation, while at the same time supports the contention that low-income families are better off than their parents. To me that just doesn't make any sense.

From his plan: "To be sure, most low-income families are better off than their parents. Of those raised in the bottom fifth of the income scale, 93 percent experience “absolute” upward mobility. After adjusting for family size and the cost of living, they make more money than their parents did at the same age.2 In short, economic growth has raised living standards across the board."

He also says it is the fault of the anti-poverty programs themselves, instead of the resession, that has caused an increase in poverty.

And he says he wants to shift the responsibility to the states in figuring out how to spend the block grant, but still have to rely on the federal government to approve any plan the states may come up with.

That just sounds like the creation of even more bureaucracy, that will cost money, that will have to be taken from the anti-poverty programs, resulting in less money for the programs they are to oversee.

This is just another scheme by the GOP. They know they look bad to poor people, and will not get their votes. So they try to dress up a pig and offer that to all of us, hoping we will think they are doing us all a favor. The crux of the matter is, no matter how he dresses it, it (the GOP) is still a pig.

I'll be glad when November gets here. Hopefully, this clown will be ousted from OUR government. To put it into two words. He lies.

 Anti-Poverty Pig, Still a Pig

Rep. Paul Ryan talks about his new plan to combat poverty. Ryan talks about the need to customize plans to a person’s need to focus on getting people from “where they are to where they want to be” to get them out of poverty.

Planetary Human Unity is Needed

I just seen the news telling of the Dutch, and their devotion to each other. They held a ceremony for the lost ones of flight  MH17. The roads were lined with people, who with out prompting came out to pay tribute to the dead. A long line of 40 hearses carrying the coffins rolled silently along the avenue, as people tossed flowers, and the tears flowed. We need this devotion to each other on a planetary basis.

War sucks in every possible way. War, it seems, kills people who don't want it, and leaves intact the people who promote it. How long until all humans stop visiting violence against one another? How long will it be until people share what they have, and stop trying to take by force? How long till the primitive madness is purged from humanity?

The Russians and the Russian backed separatists seem to hold responsibility for the damages to humanity as a thing to be avoided, even if lying must be used. Lies are the order of the day when it comes to culpability. The governments who are involved look at this crash as an opportunity to bash one another. They play the PR game when they should be working to stop all conflict.

The rub is, they don't want to stop any conflict. They don't really care how many innocent people get killed in their bid for power and territory. For them the goal justifies the means. For the Europeans who deal with Russia on a daily basis, the only thought is keeping commerce going between the two, and the lives lost are just part of the cost of doing business. The oil giants and their cronies in the government look at it as an opportunity to advance the cause of drilling for and using more petroleum.

All the things I see there and here on our own soil bring me to the conclusion that one world authority is needed. One world unity is the only way out of this. Every person of reason and peace need to stand together and shout, "No more". There are way more people who are peaceful, and just trying to live their lives without conflict over resources and politics, than there are war mongers. The bad thing with that is, the peaceful people get fooled by divisive talk of religion and nationalism. We should be past such primitive notions by now. That type of thought may have served in the past, but now they have become a danger to humanity.

In the past we fought over ideology, religion and politics with knives and guns. Applauded were them who killed every man, woman and child in a village of the despised. Now we can kill many with a single touch of a finger to a button. We now have the power to kill every person on the planet in a matter of hours. Seems to me that is a good reason to keep these powerful devices out of the hands of warring factions. Seems to me this situation calls for the elimination of factions.

I call on all peaceful people of our world to press for an end to division. I call on the world to come together in unity against that which would ruin our continued advancement as a species. If we don't, it could spell the end of us all, or at least, an end to civilization as we know it.

Nothing Matters

I was ranting and raving about old fools, and how they stupidly suck up every lie presented to them. Then the power went off before I could save. So let me try again to inconvenience you by pointing out that you are not a wise old sage. You're just old and stupid. If you don't know who I'm talking about, just try to think about it for a second. About a second is all your impoverished attention span will allow.

For all you stupid people in Israel and Gaza. You stupid Israelis should know if you try to confine people to an area, they will fight it. You stupid people in Gaza, should know if you launch a bunch of missiles at Israel, they will fight it. Tit for tat is the running game there for the last few centuries. If all you guys have left is violence, you both must be to stupid to settle differences peacefully. I don't give a flying whatever who started it.

Now for my power going out. It would have to go out when I'm half way through writing something. I try to reconstruct what I wrote, but it is never the same. We live in the 21st freaking century, and can't even keep the power going on a sunny day! WTF? Stupid humans still stuck on this infinitely small speck when infinity beckons us. Oh, we talk big, but no action!

All then fancy movies like Star Wars and others, teasing us with the promise of strange lands and strange creatures. We had all that on Earth 100 years ago, but not any more! There were unknown animals and unseen lands back then. Not any longer on this planet. We've explored so much of this Earth, it is a rare thing to find anything new. We have crowded each other to the brink with 7 billion plus people all trying to whittle out a slice of an ever shrinking pie.

I must be the stupidest one of the old fools out there in fantasy land. Taking the time to write about my displeasure, or pleasure, then thinking it may have made any difference, when it doesn't. My voice is in a vacuum. I open my mouth and start vibrating my vocal cords for no reason, except that of hope. That only remaining reason is fading fast. When the hope is gone, there is nothing remaining but the giving up, or the joining in.

I've thought about it too! I could act like I am all religious. Build up a flock of sheep, and get them to give me all their money. All I have to do is say, "Who believes in God, give me an Amen." I could use all the tried and true methods to gather a bunch of followers. All I have to do is regurgitate the same old lies told to the sheep over and over. That is if that is what I really wanted out of life. I could be like the preacher I seen on TV. He stood up there with diamond rings, a Rolex watch and find garb. He expounded about how the "Lord" wants him to have all them material objects. About all the reasons you should give him 10% of your money. I might as well do like that shyster.

Maybe I could make an "Atheist" web site selling atheist t-shirts, and other stuff designed to get under the skin of Christians. I may as well stir the pot of discontent too! Remember, if you can't beat them, join them.

Isn't that the way the story goes with humans. All for one, and I'm the one. Every last one of us stuck to a mortal shell, and convinced we matter one bit. In 10 million years none of any of this will matter. It will all be resigned to oblivion, and so will you and me.

So tell me again how friggen important your cause is! Explain how your thoughts and ideas will matter to the universe. Even though you are a speck, tell me how big and important you and your ideas are. Did you even read this far. If you did, you wasted your time.

More Proof the Republican Party is Insane

It is stuff like this that make me think that the Republican Party has lost its collective mind, and/or they just hate Obama because the GOP is a bunch of bigots.

I've been saying all along that the GOP is obsessed with the ACA, and puts everything else as second. The GOP is becoming a serous liability to the functioning of our government.

Here are the points in this article from MSNBC that make me believe as I do. I challenge any person to prove any of these statements as incorrect!

(1) "The potential legal action, which got a hearing in the House Rules Committee Wednesday morning, stands little chance of success. But the very fact that it looks set to go forward makes the GOP’s current priorities clear."

(2) "President Obama sees things differently. “Their big idea has been to sue me,” he said Tuesday. “That’s what they’re spending time on—a political stunt that wastes America’s time and taxpayer dollars.”"

(3) "Helping Democrats make their case is the fact while Boehner and co. lay plans to take the president to court; they’ve approved almost no substantive legislation. "

(4) "A poll last week found that even 74% of newly insured Republican voters like their coverage, while enrollment figures remain strong. "

(5) "...the lawsuit represents a major flip-flop."

(6) "The White House decision to delay the mandate for businesses with 50-100 employees was in part a concession to concerns that some companies needed more time to adjust. Now, Republicans find themselves in the awkward position of suing for faster enforcement of a provision they’ve said they hate."

(7) "...it’s routine for the executive branch to delay or tweak the enforcement of rules, as it looks to implement complex legislation. In 2006, President Bush delayed the enforcement of a mandate (yup) for seniors to sign up for Medicare’s prescription drug benefit. Congress didn’t raise a peep."

(8) "Boehner knows impeachment would be a disaster for the GOP, but he needs a way to keep tea party voters on the team, to ensure they’ll turn out this fall."

Do Nothing Congress Pushes Do Nothing Bill

The Republicans in congress have a problem with obsession. They are obsessed by anything that touches the ACA. Now they are advancing do nothing bills just because they have something to do with the Affordable Care Act.

Their campaign has nothing to do with what is good for our nation. After all, the "The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identified family planning as one of the greatest public health achievements of the twentieth century, finding that smaller families and longer birth intervals contribute to the better health of infants, children, and women, as well as improving the social and economic roles of women.” [1]

While the GOP works to curtail all women's reproductive rights, other issues are left on the shelf to gather dust. Things like a Highway Bill that isn't passed, and the Highway trust fund running out of money which could affect hundreds of thousands of people who depend on those jobs.

"Without necessary maintenance in the long-term, aging roads and bridges can crumble -- causing inconvenient emergency closures, or worse yet, catastrophic failures -- like the 2007 collapse of the I-35W bridge in Minnesota and the 2013 collapse of I-5 in Washington state." [2]
The Republicans seem to lay all the blame on the President, when it is the House of Representatives and the Senate who are at fault. It is the congress who passes bills, and the President signs them into law. So far, this do nothing congress hasn't passed any substantive bills, so how can it be the Presidents fault?

The obsession of the Republicans with eliminating the Affordable Care Act is the motive behind their current actions. It is a chance to chip away at the ACA, which is their pet peeve. It is the fact that the President is not a white man that motivates them to oppose him at every turn, and to look for any opportunity to ruin his Presidency.

Please write your person in congress, and demand that they start focusing on the pressing issues that they have ignored for the last 6 years. Demand that they keep the law intact which is in our Bill of Rights. The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion. When the Supreme Court gave an exemption to the law to Hobby Lobby, they in effect made a law that is counter to the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States.

Your Attention is Being Focused on Obama for a Reason

Granted President Obama is not the best. He is just another big oil thrall. On the other hand, I think anger is misplaced. If you really want to fix our government, start with congress. Ever since Obama took office the GOP has done nothing but oppose him at every turn. There has never been a congress so polarized in the history of the nation. The Affordable Care Act's passage is part of what caused the problem, or rather the attitude of the GOP when it comes to its passage.

John Boehner, Speaker of the House,

Congress wasted 100's of hours, and millions of US taxpayer dollars attempting again, and again to repeal the ACA. The last count was over 50 times! Now here we go again with this lame law suite.

John Boehner, as Speaker of the House, sets the agenda in the house. "Speaker of the House is a leadership position and the office-holder actively works to set the majority party's legislative agenda."[1] " In pursuing this goal, the Speaker may use his or her power to determine when each bill reaches the floor. They also chair the majority party's steering committee in the House."[1]

If you want to find the cause of our frustration you'll find it with John Boehner and his pals. Do the research. I have tirelessly watched these guys and dug for information, and I call it like I see it.

"But even measures that both parties’ leaders want to get done, such as immigration reform, tax reform, and transportation legislation have scant chance of reaching Obama’s desk."[2]

Next month, on August 1, if there isn't a transportation bill passed, there will be no money allocated for fixing our roads. That will affect approximately 700,000 transportation workers. Why hasn't a bill been passed to fund our roads? Because a bill hasn't yet reached the floor of our House of Representatives! The rub is, the US government isn't bringing in the money they used to on gas tax. Cars are getting better mileage, and people are driving less. Some people want to raise the federal gas tax, while others want to tax every mile you drive, or make toll roads.

"Rather than imposing new tolls on drivers, Republicans are soon expected to pass a separate bill in the coming weeks that would raise money by stopping most mail delivery on Saturday, and also pass a short-term highway funding bill. The GOP says Democrats have also offered the idea of ending Saturday delivery as a way to save money at the U.S. Postal Service."[3]

Don't forget the United States federal government shutdown of 2013. All that was compliments of the speaker of the house and a bunch of other GOP cronies. They kept insisting on tacking the defunding of the ACA onto legislation to fund the entire government. "From October 1 through 16, 2013, the United States federal government entered a shutdown and curtailed most routine operations after Congress failed to enact legislation appropriating funds for the fiscal year 2014, or a continuing resolution for the interim authorization of appropriations for the fiscal year 2014. Regular government operations resumed October 17 after an interim appropriations bill was signed into law."[4]

You can't blame all of the mess on President Obama. It is our dysfunctional congress that is mostly at fault for damaging our economy and our countries reputation. Even the credit rating of our nation was downgraded for the first time in history! How messed up is that?

President Obama can not, and will not be our president next election. So instead of allowing the spin masters to cause you to pay attention to the wrong stuff, pay attention to the stuff that matters. Like our do-nothing congress. Like why has this congress been the least productive in the history of America?

July Letter From the White House

The White HouseSunday, July 06, 2014

You might be seeing a lot of news about the economy creating more jobs.
That's because at the beginning of every month, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics releases a report on our country's general employment situation for the previous month -- and this month's showed good news.

What's it all mean, and why should you care?

There's still much more to do to keep moving forward, but we've put together a few key points about how our economy is doing generally. Take a look -- and if you learn something new, pass it on.

Our country hasn't seen this kind of job creation since the 1990s -- and we've been adding more than 200,000 jobs a month for five months straight.
The 1.4 million jobs added in the first half of this year are the most in any half since 1999. What's more, this is the first time since September 1999-January 2000 that we've seen total job growth above 200,000 for five straight months.

GIF: Here's what our jobs growth looks like.

Auto sales in June are also the highest they've been since mid-2006 -- before the financial crisis.

Let's not forget that the American auto industry is continuing to bounce back -- adding 18,000 jobs this past month for a total of 463,000 jobs added since Chrysler and GM came out of bankruptcy in June 2009.

Employment in Motor Vehicles and Parts Manufacturing and Sales

Meanwhile, we're continuing to produce more oil at home than we're importing from overseas.

In addition to doubling renewable electricity generation from sources like wind and solar, last October something big happened: For the first time in nearly two decades, we started importing less foreign oil than we were producing at home.

U.S. Crude Oil Production and Net Imports

It's progress -- but we've still got work to do.

Want a more in-depth look at what the jobs numbers mean, complete with more charts, numbers, and economist-speak?

Take a look at this post from Jason Furman, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers.

Don't Forget About the Attempted Shutdown

Here is something we all should keep in mind. This cuts across party lines because it concerns all of us. You haven't seen anything about it for a while, and that may be by design.  I think there is good reason to tell it again because some would rather you forget.

Time to clean house. Please read.

~PLEASE REMEMBER THIS NEXT ELECTION~
No matter the out come of this failure of government. Regardless of our political affiliation, republican or democrat, we as a people must punish our elected officials for this breach of the public trust, THE SHUTDOWN OF OUR GOVERNMENT AND POSSIBLE DEFAULT. Let there be no doubt as to what this closure is about.
The shutdown is about the GOP/Tea Parties insistence on tacking the defunding of the ACA (Obamacare) onto the budget as they had planed months ago. This is part of their plan, it's as simple as that.
Read the overwhelming proof as to the cause of this dysfunction. Look at the list of offending parties. All of them must be punished. The best way of doing that is to speak with your vote and dollar.
Do not ever again vote for any person who was a signer of the Meadows letter to Boehner.
Do not buy any products produced by a company owned by the Koch Brothers.
Call for the implementation of a Westminster style (NON-PARTISAN) Speaker of the House.
Call for the censure of the Republican Party in general, and the Tea Party in particular for malfeasance, and breach of the public trust.
What follows is a bunch of stuff I've found that shows who are the culprits. This is a lot of information, but please remember it for the upcoming next elections.
DO NOT VOTE FOR ANY PERSON ON THIS LIST WHO IS AN AUTHOR, SPONSOR, CO-SPONSOR OR SIGNER OF THE MEADOWS LETTER TO BOEHNER.
NO INCUMBENT GOP SIGNERS NEXT ELECTION!
PLEASE REMEMBER THIS....and Share it so people will try to remember to vote these clowns out of OUR government!
They need to be punished!

letter by a North Carolina freshman, Representative Mark Meadows, urging Mr. Boehner to take up the defunding cause.
“This is exactly what the public wants,” Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, founder of the House Tea Party Caucus, said on the eve of the shutdown.
“We view this as a long-term effort,” said Tim Phillips, the president of Americans for Prosperity. “We want to see this law repealed,” Mr. Phillips said.
One of the biggest sources of conservative money is Freedom Partners, a tax-exempt “business league” that claims more than 200 members, each of whom pays at least $100,000 in dues. The group’s board is headed by a longtime executive of Koch Industries, the conglomerate run by the Koch brothers, who were among the original financiers of the Tea Party movement.
“I think people realized that with the imminent beginning of Obamacare, that this was a critical time to make every effort to stop something,” Mr. Meese said in an interview. If the law took full effect as planned, many conservatives feared, it would be nearly impossible to repeal — even if a Republican president were elected in 2016.
The defunding idea, Mr. Meese said, was “a logical strategy.”
The document set a target date: March 27, when a continuing resolution allowing the government to function was to expire. Its message was direct: “Conservatives should not approve a C.R. unless it defunds Obamacare.”

House Key Votes CO-SPONSORSHIP OF THE DEFUND OBAMACARE ACT OF 2013 (HOUSE)
JULY 23, 2013
Representatives should co-sponsor the Defund Obamacare Act AND tie it to a “must-pass” bill, such as the year-end funding bill. If Congress chooses not to fund Obamacare activities for the upcoming fiscal year, the Obama Administration cannot act to implement the law. Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) and fourteen of his Senate colleagues have said they “will not support any continuing resolution or appropriations legislation that funds further implementation or enforcement of Obamacare.” Congress can and should act to defund all of Obamacare now.
Heritage Action supports the Defund Obamacare Act (H.R.2682) and will include CO-
SPONSORHIP of this legislation on our legislative scorecard.

CONSERVATIVES SHOULD SIGN MEADOWS’S LETTER TO DEFUND OBAMACARE
DAN HOLLER | JULY 24, 2013
Yesterday, Heritage Action announced it would key vote co-sponsorship of the Defund Obamacare Act, introduced by Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA). In the key vote, we said “Representatives should co-sponsor the Defund Obamacare Act AND tie it to a “must-pass” bill, such as the year-end funding bill.”
Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) is circulating a letter in the House to that effect. The letter urges Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) to take the steps necessary to defund Obamacare in its entirety, including on a year-end funding bill like a continuation resolution (CR).
Heritage Action supports the Meadows letter and urges all lawmakers to sign the letter.

The Heritage Foundation is Not on Your Side

Here is some important information about the Heritage Foundation I think you should know about. An informed voter is the corrupt politicians worst enemy. Read it and then decide for yourself.

The Heritage Foundation

The foundation took a leading role in the conservative movement during the presidency of Ronald Reagan, whose policies drew significantly from Heritage's policy study Mandate for Leadership.[3] Heritage has since continued to have a significant influence in U.S. public policy making, and is considered to be one of the most influential conservative research organizations in the United States.[4]

The health insurance mandate in the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, is an idea hatched in 1989 by Stuart M. Butler at Heritage in a publication titled "Assuring Affordable Health Care for All Americans".[23] This was also the model for Mitt Romney's health care plan in Massachusetts.[24]

In 1973, businessman Joseph Coors contributed $250,000 to establish The Heritage Foundation and continued to fund it through the Adolph Coors Foundation.[54][55]

Heritage is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization as well as a BBB Wise Giving Alliance accredited charity funded by donations from private individuals, corporations and charitable foundations.[56] The foundation does not receive government funds.[57][58] As a 501(c)(3), Heritage is not required to disclose its donors and donations to the foundation are tax-deductible.[57] According to a MediaTransparency report in 2006, donors have included the John M. Olin Foundation, the Castle Rock Foundation, the Richard and Helen DeVos Foundation and the Bradley Foundation.[59] As of 2010, Heritage reported 710,000 supporters.[60] For the fiscal year ending December 31, 2011 Heritage's total revenue was $72,170,983 and its expenses were $80,033,828.[61][62] Heritage Foundation is also a part of the Koch Foundation Associate Program.[63]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Heritage_Foundation

The following is information about organizations that fund the Heritage Foundation

John M. Olin Foundation was an American grant-making foundation established in 1953 by John M. Olin, president of the Olin Industries chemical and munitions manufacturing businesses.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_M._Olin_Foundation

The Castle Rock Foundation is an American conservative foundation started in 1993 with an endowment of $36.6M from the Adolph Coors Foundation.[1][2] It ranked as Colorado's 15th largest foundation by assets at the end of 2001.[3] The foundation gathered media attention during Pete Coors' unsuccessful 2004 Senate run, when opponents pointed at the dichotomy between the Coors Brewing Company's attempt to appeal to a broad audience, in particular with minorities and gay customers, while the Castle Rock Foundation was used by the Coors family to fund several conservative initiatives intent on curtailing the rights of these same customers.[4]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_Rock_Foundation

The Richard and Helen DeVos Foundation is an American conservative foundation and grant-making body formed in 1970. [1] It is based in Grand Rapids, MI.[2]
Richard DeVos is co-founder of Amway and served as the finance chair of the Republican National Committee.[1]
With his wife, Helen, DeVos is a winner of the William E. Simon Prize for Philanthropic Leadership.
http://en.wikipedia.org/.../Richard_and_Helen_DeVos...

Since the 1980s and today the Bradley Foundation funds organizations which dismantle environmental regulations and funds educational programs directed to promote US military expenditures and actions. The Bradley for the "environment" foundation funds legal actions to block newly recognized endangered species from being registered.

Could the Hobby Lobby Exemption be Used to Deny Medical Coverage?

Hobby Lobby has an exemption from the law in allowing their health insurance to not provide birth control methods to their female employees the method is in conflict with their religious beliefs.

Their is already a church that, by law, is allowed to with hold medical treatment on religious grounds. The Christian Scientists are one such group. They have been allowed to with hold medical treatment that could save a child's life, and that choice has caused children to loose their life.

Will organizations like the Christian Scientists attempt to with hold all insurance covered medical treatments from their employees because of their religious beliefs? They do not believe in using modern medical practices. They believe that when a person is sick, prayer is the only acceptable cure. They decide for their children if and when medical treatment is used. Their have been children who have died because of their choice. Children who could have easily been cured by modern medical practices. The children are not like an adult employee of a business. They can not decide for themselves. Now religion is trying to decide for adults what medical treatments are appropriate, and which are not.

I can see the judgement of the Supreme Court on this issue being used by others to cause people to conform to their religious doctrine. It could be used to defend an employer  who wishes to provide no medical coverage. It could also be used by individuals to defend their choice to not seek medical treatment for a sick child.

Again I say that the Supreme Court has erred grievously in their recent decision to exempt Hobby Lobby from the law. I think in the future the justices will have to reverse their decision. They will be forced to because they have stepped into the realm of making law that respects the establishment of a religion. To exempt from the law on religious grounds is in essence, making a law. That runs counter to the 1st Amendment of the United States Constitution. The exemption can also cause people to die.

Look at this case and others, then decide:

[1] "Seth Ian Glaser, 17 months, died March 28, 1984, in Culver City, California of h-flu meningitis (bacterial meningitis). The parents used only a Christian Science "practitioner" and obtained no medical care for Seth. The parents said that on March 27th, Seth seemed ill and very tired, so they requested absent "treatment" from a church practitioner. At various points Seth seemed to improve, but then relapsed.

Symptoms on the 27th were fever, coughing, and rapid breathing and heart rate. The next morning the baby's body turned blue and he vomited up food. At 11 a.m. the parents decided that Seth's condition was serious and that they should take him to the "healer." However, they had to wait for a 1 p.m. appointment. En route Seth went into convulsions that lasted for 90-second periods. His arms and legs became rigid. Even at this point, Seth's parents testified that they did not seriously consider taking Seth to an emergency room. Alarmed at the severity of Seth's illness, the Christian Science practitioner called the church legal advisor who told her that they had the legal right to withhold medical care.

At 2:45 p.m. Seth stopped breathing. At this point another practitioner who reputedly had succeeded in resurrecting the dead was contacted. Not until 11 P.m. that night was Seth's body allowed to be taken by mortuary personnel. Seth's mother was charged with manslaughter and child endangerment; however, in a trial conducted without a jury, the Court directed a verdict in favor of the defendant."

Conform or Be Cast Out

Don't expect respect for logical thought. If you want respect, be rich and ruthless.

That is the way of our Bizarro World. Follow the money. Destroy all that do not comply. That is the only thing that really matters. That and being in agreement with the mob. The money gives the mob instructions, and the mob carries them out. You better side with the mob even if it makes you a hypocrite, if you value your life.

Thoughtlessly, blindly and with much emotion the mob will go from street to street, searching for a difference. When they find even slight variation, they will tear it to pieces with animal ferocity. No room for anything except for conformance. Bow down to peer pressure, implanted by money, and fear of reprisals.

Every day money spews out enough poison to turn brother against brother,  and father against son. Each one clashing without reason, except for to please the mob. Each one being confident in their convictions, but all of them are dupes. Fooled by the money.

One person says one thing. The other person says another. Then instead of logical discourse, there is only the desperate attempt to change the mind of the other. First by words, then when that fails by the fist.

How ape like humans are. Still ruled by the law of the jungle. Still snatching crumbs from anyone who has them. Enough is never enough. All that is cared for is numbers in an electronic ledger. More of value are these invented devises than members of our own species.

I heard it in a song, "Conform or be cast out". Each one casts out the other. Each one is a liar. Each one believes their own lies. It must be true, because they say them so often. The lie is their truth, buried under a thousand lies. So much accumulated, it is impossible for the commoner to dig through and find truth. All they have left is to follow the mob.

Beware of the mob, and be ready to conform. Be ready or be cast out. Conform, or fight for your life.

Children at the Border are Not Your Typical Illegal Alien

Watching this got me thinking.

Red White and Blue, Lynyrd Skynyrd: Military Tribute

How in the hell does it look? We send troops to foreign lands to help them. Of course there are some who dishonor our nation with despicable acts, but over all we try our damnedest to do the right thing. People the world over hear of all of it. A lot of people all over the world think the American people are the best. They believe we are good and kind, willing to give a hand to them in despair. They are right too! Look at all the good we have done!

Now I turn my attention to our southern border. Women with children, who are not much older than child girls go thousands of dangerous miles, trying to escape drug lords, kidnappers, rapists, murders and all other bad things. They arrive at our border with visions of the kind Americans who will surely save them from their miserable lot, and what do they get for their efforts to be free? They get an angry crowd. They get yelled at. They get told to turn around, we don't want you. They get told, we won't help you. We despise you.

What a shameful situation! It goes against everything we stand for. These children who seek our kindness, and mercy are not like the others. They are not like the ones who cross the border searching for a job, then send it all back home to Mexico. These people, these children have been forced out of their home by violent, evil people who have made their own country the murder capitols of the world! Can't we afford something to help these people? I know we have our own problems. We have people here who need help too! Instead of just dumping these people back into the grinder, we should help them.

Our ancestors who came from foreign lands would be ashamed of us for the way some of us have reacted to the children at the border. Please help them now, and to take back their homeland. That is the real way to help them. If we help make their home country safe, they will have no fear that drives them thousands of miles to escape.

On this 4th of July Independence Day, let's remember how most of us got here. By our ancestors immigrating. I know mine did. They were Irish. They got about the same welcome as these poor women and children at the border too! We are better than that.

Supreme Court Chose Mythology Over Reality

I'll take a sure thing over a maybe any day of the week. This week, the Supreme Court selected a maybe.

When the Supreme court sided with Hobby Lobby over contraceptives, they chose to go with a maybe because not everyone believes in gods. There are a lot of people who do, and a lot of them can't decide on which one is real. Everyone has their pet god, and they think that entity is real even though they have no concrete proof. They call it faith.

For the Supreme Court, empathy and protection for some

One thing that is not based on faith is a woman's right to control her reproductive functions. That is a real thing that intimately concerns half of the people on this planet. The other half don't seem that concerned, but they are coming around. The Supreme Court Judges don't seem concerned at all. They would rather uphold some religious beliefs, by people who worship spirits and gods. Next thing you know they will appoint a witch doctor to care for the president.

How about Hebrew owned businesses. Shall they say they can not hire men who are not circumcised? It is not acceptable for a male to be un-circumcised. How about radical Muslim business owners? They can force men into not shaving their beards. How about the Supreme Court stay within the realm of reality?

We can not have religion dictate how people live their lives. What are they trying to do? Set up a theocracy like Iran?

Let me make it simple.
Pregnancies = a real thing for sure
religion = a big fat maybe

Sorry if this offends some people of faith. Anyone who knows me also knows I don't have a problem with people believing what they want. I just don't like seeing religion shoved down people's throat. That is exactly what the Supreme Court did to the employees of Hobby Lobby.

Flood of Children: Illegals or Refugees?

It seems to me that a better way of dealing with the refugees coming across our southern border is to help them at their country of origin.

These people are simply seeking a way out of a gang ridden, poverty stricken place, that has no future. I doubt that is anything less than any of you would do if in the same situation. These people are not illegal aliens, they are refugees.

Will more buses arrive in Murrieta?

President Obama asked congress for $2 billion to deal with the refugees here. I think if we as a nation took it upon ourselves to try to make things better in their home land, we would not have this huge influx of people fleeing from violence.

Could you imagine how you would feel if you went to a different place to live hoping for a better tomorrow, and 100's of people blocked you, chanting go back, we don't want you? The only place to go back to you have to deal with kidnappers, gangsters, rapists and all kinds of other thugs and corruption. You are only 17 years old, and with child, and you get that kind of hate thrown at you? It brings me to tears thinking of their distress.

The behavior of the protesters kind of make me ashamed of them.

Poverty, violence drive Central American exodus to U.S.

"El Guantillo is typical of villages across Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador that spew out a steady stream of migrants seeking work and a better life in the United States.

Driven largely by poverty and gang violence at home, the wave has swelled again in the last few months, although with a new dynamic as more children make the trek, many traveling without parents or relatives to care for them."

Rep. Lenar Whitney Calls Climate Change a Hoax

This woman, Rep. Lenar Whitney, is nothing more than a GOP/Tea Party thrall, mouth piece, an organ grinder monkey dancing to the tune of her masters.

Check out this ridiculous video she made.

Now look at the information here, then make a choice.

She has sales experience in oil field fabrication, repair and maintenance, and the media and telecommunications.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenar_Whitney

While the oil industry is still the primary source of revenue for the Houma-Terrebonne area, alternative industries are emerging.

He (her husband) was reared in Houma and Upper Caillou and established a lifelong friendship with the politically-connected Chabert family.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrebonne_Parish,_Louisiana

In 2010, Chabert voted to require sonograms for women contemplating abortion. He vote against allowing insurance companies to cover elective abortions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norby_Chabert

On her issues page only one issue is clickable. It is the one on abortion.
"I believe there is a growing, mainstream movement in America to end abortion during our lifetime.." http://www.lenarwhitney.com/issues.php

Other disturbing quotes on her site:

Term Limits
I know that our founding fathers were not interested in creating a “ruling class”...(Given her connections, I would think she is interested in making a ruling class)

Education
I will vote to eliminate the Department of Education.

ObamaCare
ObamaCare must be REPEALED. Unleash free market capitalism...

Welfare, Poverty and Crime
The war on poverty is lost. It is time to change battle tactics...

Other comments were rather vague.
