The Pain and the Pleasure

Pain is something that I am well acquainted with. Searing, agonizing pain so intense it would bring you to your knees and beg almighty God to take you from it, or it from you. Pleasure, or joy if you want to call it that, is another thing I have intimate knowledge of. Pleasure also as intense as the pain. So much so that you never want it to end, but it does. So too does the pain end one way or the other. Pleasure and pain are bed fellows. They are intricately linked. They are like two sides of the same coin, one unable to exists without the other.

There will be times for both pleasure and pain for all of us. The period of pleasure or pain varies, but pain will always win out in the very end. I am convienced that most people leave this realm of life in pain. Some of them in a lot of pain and others not so much. Drugs help some to bypass the agony of a failing organ or damaged body. That is only for the few. Most people are not afforded such a luxury. Pray that you go in your sleep, or suddenly.

The Trolls Among Us

Here is something I got to wondering about. Let me put together a few pieces. We all know about the Russian Trolls who tried to undermine the 2016 election, and are doing the same to other western democracies. We know about the protests and counter protests about one topic or the other that are taking place with regularity here and abroad. Some of the protests seem to be over things that aren't happening, like the Shari Law protests today. I don't know of any US city attempting to enact Islamic religious law. Then the thought came to mind, "Those two things, Russian Trolls and the protests, seem to be a lot alike." The major difference is one is in Cyberspace and the other is in real space.

Is it possible that Russia not only are employing troll farms to hurt us, but also real life trolls planted among us? Persons who look like any other American, but are really Russians hell bent on sowing discord. Maybe the Russians have been for decades setting us up and now the harvest is ready!

"How could this have happened?", I thought. My first thought was of the Russian Brides that have been advertised for so long. What if these Russian Brides were a major source of psychical Russian troll infiltration? I thought I might Google search the topic. I didn't find anything, yet, explicitly pointing in that direction. I did find this interesting and enlightening article from the Daily Mail.

By Edward LucasPUBLISHED: 18:59 EDT, 9 March 2012 | UPDATED: 08:14 EDT, 10 March 2012

A lot can happen in 5 years, and a lot has happened. I'm still going to see about the possibility of Russian Brides Spies. For now I offer you this. Sessions will be grilled this coming Tuesday in a special hearing. Think of all the things that have been going on. Think hard on it while you read this. Before you get into the meat of the article, read this one paragraph from it, and then a quote from trump.

Excerpt: "We are dealing with an adversary who is determined, resentful and paranoid, where we are complacent and trusting. We want to like him. We hope he will like us, and eventually be like us. He wants nothing of the kind."

Trump quote: "I'm saying that I'd possibly have a good relationship. He's been very nice to me," Trump said. "If we can make a great deal for our country and get along with Russia that would be a tremendous thing. I would love to try it."

My own quote: "This don't look to good at all."

Media Bias Towards Coal in Southern Illinois

On the WSIL News 3 broadcast in Southern Illinois there was an interview with a 19 year old person who works at a coal mine. He said in order to make the money one can make in a coal mine one would have to go to college or work in a factory. I think he is trading his future for near term gains, and the possibility of black lung. He should get that degree or a job in a factory.

Coal Miners
Look, I know that Southern Illinois has a long history with coal. Coal was and still is a vital resource. There will always be a need for coal to use for one purpose or the other. Those purposes are less likely to have electricity generation on the list as time goes by. Coal use in power plants is on the decline. Even China has canceled the construction of 10 new coal fired power plants and is accelerating the construction of solar and wind power electrical generation plants.

Southern Illinois is banking on something called "clean coal" to save the coal mining industry. The coal mining industry is touting the benefits of carbon sequestration in an effort to stave off the decline in coal burning. Let's face the facts. By the time that technology has matured enough to solve the problem of carbon dioxide driven global warming it will be far to late. Clean coal is a myth.

Southern Illinois would be better served if the focus was shifted away from saving the coal mining industry, and pointed towards the booming green energy sector. The growth in green jobs is far outpacing the coal industry. Sure, there has been a little spike in coal jobs due to some of the current president's actions, but that will be short lived. The decline in coal mining jobs is inevitable. Backing the coal mining job horse is a bad bet in the long term.

I would like to see some unbiased reporting by WSIL News 3 on this. Their reporting seems to be leaning towards the coal jobs side. Like the interview with the young 19 year old man working at a coal mine. There you got one side of the story from a youth who did not have the life's experience to make a rational comment. He has a job paying well as evidenced by the car WSIL showed him driving away in. That carrot dangled in front of the audience wasn't lost on me. WSIL may as well had the news caster say "You too could be driving a car like this if you get a coal mining job."

The young person working in a coal mine may be all happy now with a new car, but his future looks bleak to me. He mentioned college or a factory as an alternative to working in a coal mine. Those two alternatives are way better than the future offered by a coal mine. But if people want to go for short term gain and suffer for it later (black lung, unemployment) then go on ahead and get that coal mining job and drive a new car now. Oh by the way, if the choice was an engineering degree now, the person who did that will be driving a way better car in the future than the one who opted for a coal mining job now. They will be living in a far better house too.

So let he viewer have both sides of the story WSIL News 3. You serve the community poorly if you fail to do that one simple thing.

Here is an excerpt from an article explaining why clean coal is a myth. It isn't the only one out there by far. I've provided the link to the main piece too.

The Myth of Clean Coal: Analysis

"But that's the easy part. The harder challenge would be transporting and burying all of this high-pressure CO2. American Electric Power recently began a CCS project at its Mountaineer Plant in West Virginia. The operation captures a few hundred tons of CO2 a day. That's a start--but a typical 500-megawatt power plant produces about 10,000 tons daily."

Stop Being a Poser, You Aren't in the Confederate Army

Hypocrisy runs rampant in America. I have a hard time understanding why people don't recognize it when it is right in their face.

I was surfing some Trump Facebook pages and groups to see how that mindset is doing. Sometimes I even join one of those groups for experimental purposes. I joined one a couple weeks ago, and after having lurked for a few days posed a question. I asked "What would you do if the Democrats successfully impeached president Trump?" I chose my words carefully so as to not give an indication of my opinion. There were a lot of comments coming in, but after about 40 comments it was deleted. I also was kicked from the group, and received a message. "You're nothing but a god damn troll, etc. etc. etc...."  Even though I didn't last long there, I did learn something. I believe it is a good thing to know what is going on in the opposition's camp.

Today I was doing the same thing and checking out the Trump Camp.I got to the second Trump group and BAM, hypocrisy right in the face. The group had a recurring character who liked to post video. This was a young man who fit the stereotypical "southern worken man" persona. Behind him was the Stars and Bars. Also on the wall were stick on decals of various types of weapons.

This guy started going on with "Don't come around here trying to tell me what the Confederate flag means to me!" It was pretty much the same old stale canned hash they have been serving up for years. The kind of hash that makes you say "Not again." because you've heard it 1000 times and you can go point by point on why he was wrong on every count.

I scroll down the page a bit only to find one that proves a disconnect. Hypocrisy, if you will. The same young fellow on this next video started ranting and raving about all the Mexican flags he sees every day coming home from work. Of how when these "illegals" get to "our" country they need to respect the flag.

Just exactly which flag is he talking about, the flag of the United States, or the Confederate flag? I know which flag I call my banner.I know which flag I pledge allegiance to, and it sure as hell isn't the Confederate flag. That was 100 years in the past. I have nothing to do with it. I really couldn't care less about if some fellow wants to fly a Mexican flag. At least Mexico still exists as a nation, unlike the Confederacy.

All the people out there who think they have something to prove with a confederate flag have bought into someone else's fight. There were actual folk who really were in the Confederacy. Some of them believed in the Confederacy as much as I do the United States. They weren't being posers 100 odd years after the fact. So give it a rest.

Stop being on the defensive about it. Look here. The Civil War is over. The Confederacy lost the war and surrendered. Stop being a poser, you aren't in the Confederate Army. It looks silly.

You Want People to Make More Money

Illinois passed a $15 dollar an hour minimum wage. I believe that is a good thing.

This morning I was reviewing all the benefits of an increased wage because it seems that the local news focuses on myths about the minimum wage. One of those myths is that the people working for the minimum are nothing but a bunch of high schoolers looking for extra pocket money. That isn't even close to being true. Even if it were it would be a poor excuse for a low minimum wage.

Look at it this way. Just because someone is a person of youth is no reason to rip them off on wages. Just because someone is being supported by their parents is no excuse for giving them a raw deal. What kind of message does that send to our youth, the message that it is okay to devalue people so they can be stolen from. That's what it is too. A form of wage theft.

Furthermore, and along the same lines, it is a poor economic choice to pay someone less just because they are a youth. What do youth do with their money? The majority of them spend it. If anyone lives paycheck to paycheck it is a high schooler, living with their parents, with a part time job. So if at one wage level they afford X amount of money for pizza, movies and whatever, they will afford XX amount of money if they are paid more. There would be double the kids in shopping malls spending twice as much. All of which requires people on the job to serve them. Jobs!

Realistically though, high schoolers are not the majority of minimum wage earners. A lot of them are people with bills to pay, and are of all ages. If they had more money to spend they would create jobs. The vast middle class and poor are the job creators. Let them do their job by giving them a living wage.

Confederate Statues Stars and Bars

I used to have the Stars and Bars on my car in the form of a license plate on the front. I bought it at a flee market. I used to go by that old "southern pride" excuse as a justification for having it.

Then I was assigned to be the coordinator for an aircraft technical services company in Indianapolis Indiana. One day I had to pick up a new hire at the airport and get him settled in. He was a Black fellow. After talking with him for a while he confessed something to me. He said after seeing that Stars and Bars on my car he thought he was with another typical prejudiced white person. He also said he didn't think I was one of them anymore.

That encounter really got me thinking. Is it really worth it expressing "southern pride" like that? What's the whole point of it? Am I really "proud" and proud of what? I couldn't help it the circumstances of my birth. I didn't have anything to do with the confederacy. If I decided to take off that plate would it effect me in a negative way?

I also thought of that young black man. He seen that plate and automatically thought badly of me. That says a lot. That shows that the symbol does in fact have a negative connotation to a large portion of our people. Unlike the people who wish to express this so called "southern pride", there is a darn good chance that his ancestors were slaves. He and his family have been under the yoke of oppression for several hundred years. Please don't try to deny it. There is endemic racism in our nation. He and his brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers have lived under it. That symbol of the Confederacy is the symbol of that oppression for them.

I know there is massive racism in the deep south. I call it closet racism. I was raised there, so don't try to tell it it doesn't exist because I know it does, and I'm likely to call you a liar. I remember the mantra "Save your Confederate money and Dixie Cups. The south will raise again!" I lived through segregation and busing and Jim Crow and the whole desgusting lot of it. So what ever you do, lets not try to gloss over it with "southern pride". Flying the Stars and Bars is a slap in the face for our fellow Americans who happen to be Black. Every time they walk by one of those statues of a Confederate General, or Stone Mountain in Georgia it is like saying "In your face! You were slaves."

I visited some of the walls of people who are for keeping the statues. They have things on their wall that eludes to, or are veiled references to racists ideology. So again, let us not gloss over things with the "southern pride" excuse. If you love the Confederacy because you're a racists, at least be big enough to admit it.

I took that license plate with the stars and bars on it off my car. I did it and haven't suffered any ill effects. I'm still glad I was born in the south. I went to the beach every weekend when I was growing up. I seen Gemini and Apollo rockets flying overhead. I went fishing in the ocean. I ate a lot of catfish and hush puppies.

You know what I'm really proud of? I'm proud to be an American. I'm proud to be a part of something that is great, the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. I'm proud of the fact that I let go of the past so my fellow Americans who happen to be Black can live life a little bit more without fear and reminders of a terrible past. I'm proud that I've done my part to help bring us a little bit closer to being truly "United".

We have division enough in this nation. Trying to prove some point that doesn't matter any more doesn't help. Let us all bring ourselves together under one banner. One that can unite instead of divide. Try it. I guarantee you that you'll not suffer any negative effects. In fact, you may feel better and have less stress.

Keep Pensions & Have Medicare for All Think Bigger Than You Ever Imagined!

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, if we can bail them out to the tune of $16 trillion we can also provide 34 million jobs building the 21st Century infrastructure that will carry Humanity onward to the 22nd Century and cause a golden era for all people.

The $16 trillion was enough money to fund 91 Apollo scale projects from start to finish and at the same time. Who among us can doubt that a national priority effort, 91 Apollo projects combined in size, would be enough to push humanity to colonize the moon and Mars, plus start mining the multi trillion trillion dollar asteroids we know exist?

During your presidential campaign you said "Thank Big!" and I took that as a challenge. If we truly want Medicare for all, jobs and education for all and keep the promises of pensions we must do the bold things that will cause that to happen. Same old will not cut it.

We need elbow room, and new territory to settle, which will bring new opportunity for our people as it did in the past. We can not continue to grow our civilization and our numbers on this finite planet. We have got to expand outward. Now is the time.

Be bold like I thought you were. Be the true leader I thought you were. "Thing Big!" and I mean really big because what we're doing now isn't big enough to carry us through and save the planet.

The GOP Healthcare Bill is Designed to Maximize Insurance Company Profits

The GOP healthcare bill has little to do with health. It is a bill designed to maximize insurance company profits. It seems to me that everyone is ignoring the elephant in the room. Every time any of the legislators speak of healthcare issues it all comes back to insurance.

The GOP lament the fleeing of insurance companies from states leaving the people with little choice. They speak of Obamacare being a failure due to raising premiums, deductibles and co-pays.

The Democrats talk about the way the GOP plan will leave people unable to afford coverage, thus leaving people with pre-existing conditions out in the cold. They both go back to the root cause of our woes, and do nothing about it. Instead they both try to make a plan in which insurance companies are still in the loop.

They both want to cover people, but at the same time assure insurance company profits. The insurance companies are the elephant in the room. We need to quit worrying about it if the health insurance companies are profitable. We need to take them out of the picture entirely.

What would the argument look like on capitol hill if there were no health insurance companies? If we took them out of the equation there would be billions of dollars more to use on our people's health. There would be no more talk of raising insurance premiums and deductibles. A legion of health insurance lobbyists would suddenly find they have nothing to do. The part of these premiums that pay for CEO salaries, lobbyists and share holders dividends could be diverted to our people's health maintenance.

We live in a capitalist society who cherishes a free market, and that's okay. The thing is, not everything is amenable to free market forces. When people's lives are on the line, that is where the free market needs to stop. That is why we do not have a free market army, or police force. That is the reason we do not have free market fire departments. Our society tried that many years ago and found it didn't work out so good because people's houses burned down leaving them homeless if they couldn't pay a premium every month. So we all chipped in so everyone is covered by fire and police departments. Now I think it is time for our society to finally recognize that healthcare is the same. It is something that we all need to chip in on so that everyone is covered.

That's the reason I am for the idea of Medicare for all United States citizens from birth to death. We must remove market forces from healthcare, and that means remove insurance company participation. There is enough out there already for the insurance companies to cover like cars, houses and other non human health related things, but not healthcare. Healthcare is the health of our people, and that is the health of our nation. Medicare for all.

For Them Who Will Defend a Lie

Once a wise man said "And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life." I think I've found meaning in that wisdom that applies to other things besides their notion of salvation.

I am a liberal, Atheist, democrat who's family is mostly Christian, conservative, Republicans. I know other people who are the same. They think I am wrong on every issue. The problem is, there are things in this world that are correct, and other things that are not. It isn't that I want to be right no matter what. It is just that I could no more deny the truth than I could deny the existence of the sun and the moon. I think some of them resent it, a lot. So what to do about it.

This is what I shall do, am doing, have already started doing. I will forsake houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for truth's sake. There is no other way for me. I will not live a lie, or be a hypocrite for any person's sake. Even in this forum the purge has started.

So, if you are one of them who will defend a lie. If you are one who would lift up the rich, and look down on your brother and sister human. If you deny the truth of science and defend myth, I will forsake you. I no longer have the time or energy to try to convenience a closed mind of what it true and real. So just unfriend me because I will unfriend and block you when you are exposed. I have already started, and some of them I so very much did not want to.

I am not trying to say believe like I do or else. I just have no more time for non-sense. The stakes are to high. Truth is to important. Besides, how could I look myself in the mirror, and and be alright with who I'm looking at if I did any other thing? Why should I try to give the truth of any matter to persons who will never accept it? Another wise man said "This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man."

Trump's First 100 Days a Complete Failure

You know what deserves a failing grade? The trump trying to make out like the confirmation of Gorsuch for the SCOTUS is a giant accomplishment. It isn't! It is a big fat failure of our system is what it really is.

The GOP wouldn't even bring Obama's pick to a hearing because of partisan politics. They made a promise even before Obama took the oath of office that they would oppose any and everything Obama put forth as president. The rotten GOP kept that promise all the way to the point of a sequester and shutting down the government. They proved it with over 50 attempts to dismantle the ACA, which they are still trying to do to this very day!

Then in order to get Gorsuch confirmed, the buzzard McConnell made a motion to override a ruling by the Senate chair to disallow their move to confirm by a simple majority vote instead of 60. The motion to override was approved by a simple majority, then the move to confirm by a simple majority was approved by a simple majority. That is the brokenness of the system. If the Senate chair's ruling can be overridden in such a manner, it is a free for all in the Senate, and there may as well not even be a Senate Chairperson.

That is why the confirmation of Gorsuch is no accomplishment. It was the way in which it was done, and the unsavory partisan tactics that lead up to it. The people were robbed! Gorsuch got crammed down the people's throat. That's okay by the trump though. He is okay with anything, no matter how crooked, just as long as he gets what he wants.

If you add in the other promises he made to his duped supporters that he broke, I would say his first 100 days are a complete failure. His first 100 days are the absolute worst of any president in the history of this nation. That is the opposite of what the trump is telling people, of course. He is making out like his first 100 days were the greatest thing since the biggest piece of chocolate cake you ever seen.

So not only does all this make the GOP and trump crooks. It makes them failures too. Will they ever admit it? No. Will the trump supporters ever admit it? Maybe. It seems that there are trump supporters who are coming around to the fact that trump sold them a pig in a poke. Only the die hard supporters are still "giving him time". Time is running out!

Tax Break for Billionaires and a Carrot for Middle Class

Anyone who knows me knows I do not trust trump. With all the information I've seen about him and his history, plus his performance thus far as president gives me no reason to trust him. So that's the position I work from when considering his tax proposal.

I would not be surprised if this is one of the things he had hoped for all along. How do we know he didn't say to himself or his confederates before the election, "If only I (trump) could get elected president. I could get taxes lowered on capitol gains, and other things, and make like a bandit for years to come."

I see this as helping Wall Street the most when it comes to capitol gains. I'm not an expert, but nether are the vast majority of American voters when it comes to things like this. Even so, I see Wall Street gaining all kinds of benefits and producing nothing in the way of jobs or manufactured goods. If they produce anything it will be some kind of weird financial instruments designed to screw over unsophisticated investors. Then a few years down the road when this tax break fueled Wall Street bubble bursts the American people will be left holding the bag. A bag perhaps containing a $40 trillion dollar deficit.

What do the big wigs care? The trump will be out of office by then sitting on his ill gotten gain, and all of his cronies will be smoking Cuban cigars and drinking Russian vodka. I can't help being a pessimist after all the things I've seen. So don't blame me. It wouldn't be the first time the trump sold a pig in a poke. He has been very good at making a rotten deal look ever so sweet. Then when the bills pile up telling his debtors to take him to court for the money. A lot of them have too! He might be working off the same formula. Before the public knows the magic umbrellas that are supposed to protect them are a sham, he is out of town with all the money.

I don't trust him. I smell a rat. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe everything will come up roses. I darn sure hope so, but I got a bad feeling about this, and anything the trump touches.

My Earth Day Question: What Do You Want?

What do you want to do? This question is for all of the people everywhere. So how about it? What do you want? I'll tell you what I want. I want every person to have the means to get in out of the cold and rain, and to feed themselves and their families. To be able to get proper medical care, and education without regard for anything other than being human.

I want each person to have access to the means to fulfill their dreams. For every person to have happiness, comfort, satisfaction and security.

This Earth is like a well of resources we each dip from to sustain us. There is no real reason or logic, other than that invented or rationalized by Humans for the measuring cups to be unequal. They are unequal by design, and maintained by force of arms and threat of death. This travesty of unequal distribution of resources must come to an end in our nation, and throughout the world.

That is something I would like to see our people do. Take care of, and provide for everybody. How do we do it? First thing to do is to stop greedy people from trying to hog everything up. Everything doesn't belong to just a few people. I believe one of the best ways of giving back to the people what I call their property is to nationalize all natural resources, both material and energy. Abolish private mineral rights, and return those rights to the people. Give the people the absolute right to dictate when, where and what resources are to be extracted, and to derive the greatest benefit from those resources. No mass of citizens/humans (our brothers and sisters) should have to stand begging for food or shelter in the mists of plenty, while a few people eat the resources of a thousand. The resources that rightfully belong to the people in the first place!

How can I say all of the resources belong to all of the people? I say even the photons of sunshine from our star Sol belong to each and everyone of us. Look at it like this! Even an amoeba has the absolute right to derive sustenance from its surroundings in order to survive. A plant has an absolute right to draw nutrients from the soil and to derive energy from the sun to sustain its existence. So being living creatures thrust into existence on this world we Humans also have that absolute right to derive sustenance from our world.

That is why all of the natural resources belong to each and everyone of us. Each drop of oil and every ounce of metal, every watt of sunshine and even the air currents we breath are the collective property of all, and no one should be deprived of that birthright by greedy hogs.

Some people say that the world doesn't owe you a living. I say it owes every living creature the minerals and energy to sustain itself. After all, didn't we emerge from that very same minerals and energy?

I don't see the Democratic or Republican party trying effectively to remedy the inequality we have in our world or nation. It is like they only want to keep up the farce so that their primitive mind can find comfort in the illusion that wealth makes them important. Ten billion years from now, which will come in an instant, ask how important the Koch Brothers or Trump, or me or you were. You'll get a resounding silence in return for your question. The way humans are going I doubt they will be around to ask the question or to answer it. That's the real tragedy of it all. The only thing that should wipe out Humans is like a natural catastrophe or something. Not death by our own hand. Let not the Human race go in such a ridiculous way.

I guess maybe I got a little off track here. Nevertheless, that is what I want.

We Aren't Like the Stromatolites, or Are We?

The Earth as a whole is unthinking and just does what it does. If a lion killed a human who was evil people might say "he got what he deserved", but still the lion is just as much a part of the whole Earth as the volcano, and we don't blame the lion any more than the volcano. It is just doing what lions do.

Billions of years ago there was another organism that caused a world wide environmental catastrophe. It was the stromatolites. Before their appearance free oxygen in the atmosphere was almost nonexistent. Then along came the stromatolites releasing billions of tons of oxygen into the atmosphere and water, which was a deadly gas to most other organisms at the time. They too were just doing what they do and not giving any thought to it.

Now humans have been burning and burning for 200,000 years. We humans were just doing what we do to try to stay alive. We never gave it any thought until recently. We humans didn't know any better. Because of that ignorance, I'm not going to blame our ancestors one little bit. I will blame the people who now do know better, but because of greed keep on doing it. We aren't like the stromatolites. We have a brain and intellect. We humans damn well better start using it too or we are going to be the victims of our own folly.

We won't need volcano, earthquakes or lions to kill us. We'll do it ourselves because we aren't smart enough to keep from it. Just like the bacteria in a petri dish doomed to drown in their own waste. So what's it going to be?

Slave Labor is the Reason for Illegal Weed

During this clip from THE DAILY SHOW WITH TREVOR NOAH, Jeff Sessions opposition to legal cannabis is brought up. Let me clue you in to why Mr. Sessions might be opposed. In a word, slavery.

That's right, slavery is alive and well in Alabama. Mr. Sessions was elected Attorney General of Alabama in 1996, being re-elected in 2002, 2008, and 2014. Alabama has a long history of prison slave labor. There was even a strike by prisoners to protest the practice. Council, one of the founders of the Free Alabama Movement, said "We will not work for free anymore. All the work in prisons, from cleaning to cutting grass to working in the kitchen, is done by inmate labor. Almost no prisoner in Alabama is paid. Without us the prisons, which are slave empires, cannot function. Prisons, at the same time, charge us a variety of fees, such as for our identification cards or wrist bracelets, and impose numerous fines, especially for possession of contraband. They charge us high phone and commissary prices. Prisons each year are taking larger and larger sums of money from the inmates and their families. The state gets from us millions of dollars in free labor and then imposes fees and fines. You have prisoners that work in kitchens 12 to 15 hours a day and have done this for years and have never been paid.”…/it…/americas_slave_empire_20150621

Alabama has private prisons too. So there is a corporate profit motive going on. So you get corporations making money off slaves and from running private prisons. There are corporations that exploit prison labor and finance the school-to-prison pipeline. McDonald’s is reported to use prisoners to process beef for patties and package bread, milk, chicken products. Mr. Sessions history of being from Alabama and his job as Attorney General points to him being neck deep in this problem of prison slave labor.

Which brings us back to the issue of legalized marijuana. Who better to have as slaves than nonviolent pot smokers? Everyone who knows the issues know that illegal weed has been used for decades as a reason to lock people up. The state has been profiting on marijuana by it being illegal, and that's the reason Jeff Sessions wants to keep it that way.

Indiana is also a private prison state. The Vice President is from Indiana.

O'Really Shake Up at Fake News Makes Me Happy.

Any time there is a shakeup at Fake News I am glad. I think there is going to be some other people though who aren't going to be so glad. Those people are the smart mouthed people who rely on Bill O'Really for material. They already lost out earlier when they found out that Alex Jones was only doing "performance art" when they thought his rantings were the real deal.

Bill O'Really Fired!
O'Really, You're Fired!
They still have people like Rush Lamebrain to go to for smart mouthed fake news. The list grows shorter as time goes by. You can't be a public figure and keep your dirty deeds secret forever. They may think they can do anything they want because they are a star, but it catches up to them.

Wait a minute. Those words "do anything they want because they are a star" sound hauntingly familiar! Who said something like that and was caught on tape saying it? Oh yeah! It was none other than the biggest faker of them all, trump.

I bet this is a real blow to his fake news fueled policy pipeline. O'Really and trump were pals! Two peas in a pod were they. The trump even said O'Really was an okay guy. I guess two dirty birds of a feather are going to think they are in the company of okay guys if they think alike, (grab, grab, leer, leer).

Old TV Shows and Lost Expectations

As I sit here watching this old TV show I wonder, what the hell happened to America? I'm watching The Time Tunnel. It was made in the 1960's, during one of the greatest technological, and exploration era of human kind. An era when we had a deep fascination, acceptance of technology, assurance of where we were going, and expectations of our future. Then it all failed.

The Time Tunnel

Now our civilization is stuck in a quagmire of fundamentalist dogma, and fear of technology. No longer does our nation have the confidence in our future we had then. No longer can we look for ever increasing advancement, but rather we are retrograde in our expectations. It seems like we're just waiting around for the end of us.

We need to recapture that vigor of the Apollo era. That expectation of off world colonies and exploration. Of ever increasing advancement. We must do it before we are no longer capable of it because of the decay of our civilizations base. Because of a greedy few who only want to grab every thing they can, without regard for humanities future.

Trump Has it Wrong About His Tax Returns

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
"Someone should look into who paid for the small organized rallies yesterday. The election is over!"

This comment by trump that "The election is over!" shows how much out of touch he is with the American psyche, and politics. He must believe that the only reason anyone mentioned it during the campaign running up to the election was an effort to hurt his chances. He must believe that the only reason the people still want to know is to hurt his presidency. WRONG!

His tax returns were mentioned because the American people want to make sure we don't have a crook, or much worse a traitor, in the White House. The contents of his tax returns were relevant then, and they are relevant now. The American people wanted to know what kind of people trump was dealing with then, and they really, REALLY still want to know that vital information.

This isn't about holding some kind of grudge. This isn't about election politics. This is about integrity. This is about honesty and trust. This is about the people having faith in our president. So Mr. trump shouldn't be poo-pooing the people's desire to know.

He should give in to the people's demands and release those tax returns. If he did, that would go a long way in repairing the damage he himself has done to his own reputation. He might EARN some trust.

Mars: Penny Wise and Pound Foolish

This article I've posted a link to below is the kind of stuff that bugs me to no end. The penny pinching, shortsightedness of it all. The penny wise and pound foolishness. The lack of vision, and unwillingness to take a chance.

I'll bring it up again like I have so many times before. Remember the bubble that burst and $16 trillion it cost to repair the financial damages in 2008? Please consider the fact that $16 trillion is enough money to fund 91 Apollo missions all at the same time and from start to finish. But these guys are going to throw out a scary figure to crush hopes at $450 billion.

The Journey to Mars has a price tag, and it will give Congress sticker shock

Journey to Mars
At the lowest price, $450 billion, NASA would get only "austere" missions.
I wonder if 91 Apollo sized projects all combined into one would be enough effort to get Humans well on their way to moon colonization? There are plans for putting solar panels going around the equator of the moon so that we may beam solar energy from the moon to earth, thus solving our power needs and the fossil fuels caused greenhouse catastrophe. We might want to build a colony on the moon for just that purpose.

What about all them multi trillion dollar platinum asteroids floating around in space? While we're at it, why not go for broke and try for real riches! Do you think 91 Apollo missions going at the same time could do that? I kind of do! I think it would create jobs out the wazoo too! After all, you have to have skilled hands to build all that stuff. You have to have educated people to go there and work in space doing all that stuff. I think all them highly educated, high paid people would be buying all kinds of goods and services too! Jobs! Shall I say it again? JOBS!

The bail out was enough to fund 32+ Mars missions of the type they talk of in this downer of a killjoy article. I think if we went all out, and did the bold thing, colonizing the moon, building the lunar solar collecting grid and mining it and the asteroids, we would launch our civilization into a new era. A golden era like never seen in the history of humanity.

The thing is, you have to have guts to do it. You have to be willing to take a chance. You have to be willing to gamble it all, and have the confidence to see it through. I'm starting to think Humans don't have what it takes. All these alien movies with monsters and boogy man have scared them so much they poop in their diaper at the thought of really going to colonize another planet, much less the moon. All the big shots with their billions of dollars and all powerful attitude would quake in their silk lined shoes if they ever really took a gamble. They only want to bet on a sure winner, so they rig things here on Earth.

What a bunch of short sighted fools. The real winning bet is right outside our atmosphere. The payoff will take time to mature, but what a payoff. All the banks would have deposits like crazy! There would be a housing boom like no tomorrow. No wonder too! Space is unlimited, so that means unlimited space to colonize and have for humanity. People would be walking around with coins made of asteroid platinum in their pockets instead of the copper and nickel clad zinc debased junk we have now.

We would get better and better at it all the time too! Look at how many times SpaceX had to try, and failed, before they successfully landed a booster rocket standing on end on a barge at sea. I seen them blowing up, just like when our nation first started out building rockets. Now they land them suckers successfully all the time. They are getting better at it, just like we would with all of our endeavours in space.

The thing is, we have to go for it. Time is running out too! Time for the human race on this planet is getting short unless we do something bold. We are on a cosmic merrygoround, and the brass ring is within our grasp. We have to reach out and boldly grab it before the merrygoround stops. If we wait till it stops, we all are going to be dead, all of us. Every last man, woman and child on this planet will have a hard time getting along, then oblivion.

So let's not do that! Let us humans be bold and reach out for the stars. 91 Apollo missions style. The big gamble style. Really, "What the hell do you have to lose?"

Trump Executive Order Hurts Aviation Safety and Jobs

The trump is trampling on ground that is near and dear to my heart, commercial aircraft safety. I was an aircraft professional for over 35 years. Safety is something the vast majority of aircraft professionals take seriously, damn seriously. We know what's at stake. Remember that time half the roof of a Hawaiian Airlines Boeing 737 ripped off, sucking a stewardess out to never be seen again, and causing the aircraft to make an emergency landing? An airworthiness directive was initiated.

Hawaiian Airlines Boeing 737
How about the time an Alaska Airlines MD-83 crashed into the Pacific Ocean about 2.7 miles (4.3 km) north of Anacapa Island, California, after suffering a catastrophic loss of pitch control. An airworthiness directive was initiated. Those are just two examples of when an airworthiness directive was initiated because of an unknown design flaw or other problem being discovered the hard way. Many times An airworthiness directive is initiated because a mechanic, pilot or other professional aircraft personal discover a problem before it takes anyone's life.

People who work on aircraft have a saying. "You do your job in such a way that you would have no fear if your own mother were on board that craft." Safety is the #1 concern, then everything else comes next. That not only goes for the person with hands on the aircraft, but the people who are on the ground too. That brings to mind Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA) Flight 182 that collided with a private Cessna 172 over San Diego. Both aircraft crashed into North Park, a San Diego neighborhood. Flight 182 impacted just north of the intersection of Dwight and Nile, killing all 135 people aboard the aircraft and seven people on the ground in houses, including two children. I remember that because I was in college there and seen the smoke billowing up. My brother and I rushed from school because we thought it crashed into our house! It didn't, but never the less we seen the aftermath. Let me tell you something. It's not something you ever want to see. At the time it was the deadliest plane crash in U.S. aviation history. When is the last time you looked up and seen a commercial aircraft flying over your head?

Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA) Flight 182
My specialty was aircraft structures. I was even honored with the post of Chairman of the Department Safety Committee when working for Lockheed. I take this very personally. The trump is not only endangering all of us with his idiotic and unthinking action, he is effecting jobs in the aviation industry too! Take the example of the Alaska Airlines MD-83 that crashed into the Pacific Ocean. That was caused by the jack screw in the tail of the aircraft. Every last MD-83 in the fleet was required to have work done to it to correct the problem due to the issuance of an airworthiness directive. The same goes for the Hawaiian Airlines Boeing 737 I mentioned. All Boeing 737's were required to undergo an extensive structural modification to correct the problem. All of that means people are working fixing the problem. I myself worked much overtime on Boeing 737's doing the modification. We were saving people's lives and making a living at the same time.

You know what the trump said about the "so-called" judge who blocked his emigration order. He said that if anyone is hurt because of it to blame the judge. I say the same of trump. If one drop of precious Human blood is shed because of an airworthiness directive not issued, that blood is on his hands. The terrible truth of the matter is, that blood could be your own mother's blood.

The trump is a fool! Me MUST be removed before he causes the death of many people. #trumpmustberemoved

We Must Have Uniform Party Rules and Election Laws

Some Democrats believe that Bernie Sanders "should never have been allowed to run for the democratic party nomination". I disagree with that notion. Any person who registers with a political party has a right to run for any government office or party position from day one, and that should never be disallowed. If the voters don't want them, they will not vote for them. It should never be up to party officials to dictate who may or may not run for a post. That should be left up to the people the party serves.
Which brings up a point about how the political parties are run. After every election the parties rules committees meet and tweek their rules in an effort to gain advantage over the other. They gerrymander using positions of power gained and scheme trying their best to either maintain an advantage or create advantage over the other parties. In the end it is the voter who really loses out.
I understand the people's anxieties about the election process. The process doesn't serve them very well, so why should they get all excited about it? The process is rigged from the start. No wonder too. The same criminal politicians who are funded by rogue corporations are the same people who write the rules of the game.
One major reason other than gaining advantage over the opposing political parties to keep the voter from gaining any political power in the party. They must only be allowed to vote for the candidate of the parties choice, nothing more.
The Democratic Party failed the people when they tried to shove Clinton down people's throats, and lost the whole thing because of it. I seen the shoving down our throats and scheming when I was a delegate in the Democratic Party of New Mexico. So that's what happens when a political party does not heed the wishes of the people. People stay home and don't vote, or they break ranks and vote outside their party because of apathy, mistrust, anger or other things that indicate a basic lack of trust in our democratic system.
There is only one thing that will restore trust in our system. We must dismantle that system, and replace it with one that serves the people and not just industry, corporations and the wealthy elite. The way to do that is to take away the power to make party rules from the political parties. Take away the power from the states to make election laws. Turn over these powers over to the federal government, namely the Federal Election Commission.
The states and the political parties have proven they can not be trusted with these vital functions. Time and again their malfeasance has shown through in spectacular fashion, and to the detriment of the avarage citizen. Allow the FEC the power to enforce uniform party rules and uniform election laws. Throw out the various party rule books, and replace them all with one rule book that all parties must follow. Disallow the states making election laws, and have uniform election laws that all states must follow. That is the only way to restore faith in the system. There was a time when the avarage citizen wasn't even allowed to vote for the president at all. The political parties have tried to keep it that way through all the scheming.
There is precedence for such actions as taking away the power of these parties and the states. Up until recently all former Confederate States had to have all election laws reviewed before they were instituted to insure they did not violate the Constitution. Once that provision was thrown out, malfeasance became rampant. Vote tampering, suppression and other tactics designed to give power over to some at the expense of others became the new norm, or should I say the old way restored. So people stayed home.
Our nation's people should void these party rule books in favor of one designed to be uniform across all parties, and that book must truly be one that hands all power over to the masses. Then our people will have power over the parties, and not the other way around. "People before Party" should be the new norm. The people should rule the parties, and not the other way around.

A Portion of Dog Meat for the Supporters of Trump, then Enslavement

Since the election of Donald J Trump to the presidency of the world's most powerful nation, a lot of people have been living in fear. On the other side of the coin are the people who are elated over the development. Some people are crying real tears because Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders failed to gain that high office. Accusations of voter fraud, lies and a host of other bad blood items as made this last election cycle the most contentious in United States history.

A lot of things caused us to get to the point we find ourselves in today. The worst part of it is, none of it is anything new! We are experiencing the methods refined through centuries of practise, and handed down for many generations. The anti-vaxxer movement, the police brutality, the confiscation of lands, the wealthy people's habit of ignoring human rights, all of it and more are something that goes back to the Roman empire and further.

For instance, the anti-vaxxer movement predates the revolutionary war. Smallpox was one of the most feared diseases in the 18th century. A high percentage of those infected died; many who survived were blinded or badly disfigured. Consequently, inoculation often encountered fear and opposition. Thomas Jefferson was an early advocate of smallpox inoculation. He traveled to Philadelphia at age 23 to undergo an inoculation. In many colonies the procedure was discouraged, and in some even outlawed. When the procedure was brought to Norfolk County, Virginia, in 1768 and again in 1769, it provoked riots on both occasions. Dr. Archibald Campbell, whose house had been burned as a result of the inoculations carried out there was defended by Thomas Jefferson, who then was practicing law. He had became involved when he agreed to defend victims of the Norfolk riots.

That is an example of how far back that tradition of opposition to vaccines go. That is nothing compaired to the desgusting tradition the Trump administration carries out. His methods go back a couple thousand years. As far as I can tell these methods of power got honed to a razor edge by the Roman Empire. Their campaigns of conquest, the enslavement of whole populations and their brutal disregard for human life has been carried on to this very day.

Look what was done to the people of Britannia. When the Roman armies of conquest plowed a trail of blood through those lands, they came with a smile and a gift. Comply and they would provide so-called protection. Defy them, and they would provide a blood letting. They would provide loans of gold, or other things. Then call in those loans at the worst possible time. If the people couldn't pay up, the payment was extracted by enslavement. Keep the Romans happy in their enjoyment of blood sport in the arenas in Rome by handing over their youth. If the persons were not handed over, the Romans took them at the point of a sword.

Examine Boudica, the warrior Queen of the Iceni. Boudica's husband Prasutagus ruled as a nominally independent ally of Rome and left his kingdom jointly to his daughters and the Roman emperor in his will. However, when he died, his will was ignored, and the kingdom was annexed. According to Tacitus, Boudica was publicly flogged and her daughters raped. Because of that outrage, Boudica led the Iceni, the Trinovantes, and others in revolt. They destroyed Camulodunum (modern Colchester), earlier the capital of the Trinovantes but at that time a colonia, a settlement for discharged Roman soldiers and site of a temple to the former Emperor Claudius. Boudica then led 100,000 Iceni, Trinovantes, and others to fight Legio IX Hispana, and burned and destroyed Londinium and Verulamium (modern-day St Albans). An estimated 70,000–80,000 Romans and British were killed in the three cities by those led by Boudica. In the end she and her armies were defeated by the might of the Roman method.

Skip ahead a few centuries and we look at Sir William Wallace and King Edward I of England. Many people know the story of Braveheart, and the murder of his wife. Many people have seen the movie starring Mel Gibson who depicts him. This was another instance of the Roman method applied to a bloody conclusion.

In colonial America this method of enslavement was an integral cog in the machine of colonial conquest. We all know the fate of millions of Africans. Without regard for their personhood, they were kidnapped, transported across the Atlantic ocean, and put under the yoke of slavery. All in the name of profit, luxury and power for the few at the expense of the many. The Roman method at work.

Few people know it, but there were a great number of white slaves during those times. The African slave trade was only a part of the Roman way applied here. King James II and Charles I also led a continued effort to enslave the Irish. Britain’s famed Oliver Cromwell furthered this practice of dehumanizing one’s next door neighbor. Sound familiar?

The Irish slave trade began when 30,000 Irish prisoners were sold as slaves to the New World. The King James I Proclamation of 1625 required Irish political prisoners be sent overseas and sold to English settlers in the West Indies. By the mid 1600s, the Irish were the main slaves sold to Antigua and Montserrat. At that time, 70% of the total population of Montserrat were Irish slaves.

Ireland quickly became the biggest source of human livestock for English merchants. The majority of the early slaves to the New World were actually white. During the 1650s, over 100,000 Irish children between the ages of 10 and 14 were taken from their parents and sold as slaves in the West Indies, Virginia and New England. In this decade, 52,000 Irish (mostly women and children) were sold to Barbados and Virginia. Another 30,000 Irish men and women were also transported and sold to the highest bidder. In 1656, Cromwell ordered that 2000 Irish children be taken to Jamaica and sold as slaves to English settlers.

Many people today will avoid calling the Irish slaves what they truly were: Slaves. They’ll come up with terms like “Indentured Servants” to describe what occurred to the Irish. However, in most cases from the 17th and 18th centuries, Irish slaves were nothing more than human cattle.

I have a good reason for going on about the Scottish and the Irish, all the descendants of the Celts. The reason is, Trump and his supporters. Look at the people who support Trump. You can see for yourself that the majority of them look to be from Celtic stock. So why in the hell would they support a man who employs the same barbaric tactics of the Roman method so skillfully employed to enslave and murder their ancestors? How about a heavy dose of cultural genocide? That might work to erase some memories. The British have a long history of cultural genocide, which was imported and used against the native inhabitants of the American continent as well.

The descendants of African slaves and native people at least remember the sickening plight of their ancestors. They need to keep on remembering, and fighting back too! In large part they, and to some lesser degree all the rest of us are still slaves, economic slaves. We all suffer under the Roman method.

Trump employs that method to horrific result. A case in point is the Aberdeen Golf Course he and his traitorous lackeys in government forced upon peaceful people there in Scotland. Look at the history of that event and you will see a striking similarity in method to the methods Trump employs today. A method I've described here in previous paragraphs, the Roman method. A total disregard for the rights of people who have been living there for many generations. The outright stealing of land, the lies, the brutality and government collusion, just like what happened all throughout the history of the Scottish people, starting with the Roman invasion.

Now we have this Trump as president. A person who employs all of the Roman method. View this film "You've Been Trumped" (2011) The Real Donald Trump - The Aberdeen, Scotland Golf Course and you will hear him say and do many of the things he says and does today. Calling people "pigs", dehumanizing people, lying and having a total disregard for other people and their way of life. He has fast tracked the Roman method in the first few days of his administration. The Republican and the Democratic party too employed the Roman method, but with Trump it has been put on steriods. Just like with the emperors of ancient Rome, King Edward I of England, King James II, Charles I, Oliver Cromwell, colonial America, southern slavery and Jim Crow, this method of enslavement and servitude is carried on.

I mentioned the Trump supporters apparently seeming to be largely from Celtic stock. Unlike the Black people and the indigenous people of America, they have forgotten their past. That makes for a very dangerous situation. These descendants of slaves have fully given themselves over to the very people who enslave them. They have unwittingly bought into the lies and deceit lock, stock and barrel! It will all be to their detriment too! Remember Boudica, and the betrayal of the Iceni. Remember the betrayal of Sir William Wallace by his own people who were bought off with promises of power and wealth. Remember the betrayal of the people of Aberdeen by their own people in government because of empty promises made by Trump. You better remember it all, or you all will be damned, just like your celtic ancestors.

The people better wake up. This is serious in the extreme! We are witnessing the further enslavement of Humans by the Roman method. If these supporters of Trump do not come out of the fog of a forgotten past, one day they will wake up to their enslavement. I hope the people who remember the atrocities committed on their ancestors, and are still being committed against them will help to wake up these sleeping partners of the Roman method.

Shake them and wake them all up. Make them remember their terrible past. Also make them remember the retribution of the Visigoths led by King Alaric. The Romans treated the Visigoths very badly too! All Alaric really wanted was land on which his people could settle and an accepted place within the empire, which the authorities in Ravenna would not give him. Instead they would trade them dog meat in exchange or children to make into slaves. That led to the sacking of Rome. On August 24, 410, the Visigoths entered Rome, after starving the inhabitants under siege, through its Salarian Gate, according to some opened by treachery, according to others by want of food, and pillaged the city for three days. The mother country, and so called light of the world, was no more. Then ensued the long 500 years Dark Ages.

Wake up, you sons and daughters of slaves. WAKE UP, damn you, or be satisfied with the enslavement of your children and a portion of dog meat.
