Support Bernie Sanders and Lay Away Fear

May be true that is what Mr. Colbert is saying. I hope that is what he is saying, that we need to vote for Bernie Sanders for President. He is part of my generation, the baby boomers. He was born in 1964, the very last year of the baby boomers. If all that he said is true, I must be an anomaly because I don't believe any of the things he says in this picture message. I believe all of those things can be done, and more.

Colbert
I have to admit, it sickens me when I hear one of my generation say anything like that. We can't do this, or that. For corn's sake, we watched as humans first set foot on the moon! We took part in the digital revolution! We seen cancer go from a death sentence, to curable. Personally, I went from living in a house that was heated with a pot belly stove, and washing in a galvanized tub to seeing refrigerators that tell you when you're low on milk. So how did the baby boomers get so cynical, as Mr. Colbert alludes to?

If that's the way all my baby boomer brothers and sisters think, I have one thing to say to them. SNAP OUT OF IT! If we can't do this or that, it is because we will not allow ourselves too. So stop being such naysayers. We humans are capable of great things.

The late Napoleon Hill said, “Whatever your mind can conceive and believe the mind can achieve regardless of how many times you may have failed in the past.” It’s one of the most famous inspirational quotes on the power of positive thinking. We must recapture that power we once held so dear. This dive into negativity. This embracing of fear. This wallowing in despair must come to an end, and it can. All we have to do is believe in the power of the human ability to achieve great things, then act on it. Danger be damned. Negativity traded for positive action and despair switched off in favor of hope. We humans can have it all if we only earnestly try.

We can't do it by playing it safe. We have to take bold, and sometimes dangerous chances if we're going to fulfill our promise of greatness as a species. Just look at one of my favorite examples of this, Christopher Columbus. As he and his three ships and crew made way across unknown waters, do you think it was without fear? From what I've read, I seen plenty of fear. Fear of sea monsters and falling off the edge of the world. Starvation and dying from lack of water were all to real to them. Columbus was faced with mutiny because of his crew's fear. He had to make a pact with them, three days more is all he asked. They pushed on and conquered their fear. Now look what has been had by humanity 524 years later. Like I said, we've seen humans set foot on the moon.

So let's get behind a leader who does have hope, and vision. Let's get behind a human who hasn't given up. One who wants to take on the fight. Let us conquer our fear, and do the great things. I for one, believe Bernie Sanders is the new great leader. He has vision, and a path for human greatness. Should he fall, another will step up. They must for humanities sake. We must back great vision for human greatness by backing the proper person, like Bernie Sanders.

We can end racial tension. We can get money out of politics. We can lower the world's carbon emissions. All of it can be done, and more. It is we who will do it. Not just the baby boomers either. It will take the efforts of all our living generations boldly crossing unknown waters without fear.

Thoughts on Evolution-v-Creation

I think the subject evolution-v-creation is interesting because there are people who still believe that the creation story is true word for word. I think it is something that hurts human civilization too because that one belief sets up room for the acceptance of other myth as fact. It causes people to not question the nature of existence. Even Mr. Ham said it when Mr. Nye answered a question with "I don't know". Mr. Ham would hold up the Bible and say the answer is in that book.

Bill Nye & Ken Ham Debate

I think people who mix science and religion are in the minority within the Christian right wing. Maybe there aren't any people like that in the right wing. There are a great number of people who do take every last word of the Christian Bible as undeniable and literal fact. They try to teach creationism in the schools to our children as if it is science, when it is not. It is myth and should be taught as an elective course as philosophy.

This kind of thing goes back a long way. This subject of contention. Remember the Scopes trial. The trial publicized the Fundamentalist–Modernist Controversy, which set Modernists, who said evolution was not inconsistent with religion, against Fundamentalists, who said the word of God as revealed in the Bible took priority over all human knowledge. The case was thus seen as both a theological contest and a trial on whether modern science regarding the creation–evolution controversy should be taught in schools.

They lost their battle to pass anti-evolution laws in the end, so the fundamentalists side step the whole thing, and set up their own system. That is one of the appealing things about the concept of home schooling. One can get away with teaching children creationism, climate denial, or any other non-fact thing as fact. This is a continuance of the Fundamentalist–Modernist Controversy. People should lay this controversy to rest and embrace science. Many of the people on the fundamentalist side are the anti-vaxxers too.

When people get set up to believe in myth as a fact, they get set up to distrust science. So we get anti-vaxxers, and human made global climate change deniers. Just those two things can have devastating consequences for human civilization. So the Modernist fights the fundamentalist notions because of a need to preserve human kind, while the fundamentalist fights the modernist to preserve a belief in a myth. While the fight continues, children die from measles, and our environment becomes more hostile.

I think the fundamentalists don't really care because they also believe in a "Second Coming" of Jesus. One fundamentalist even told me so in horrifying detail. "If dropping a nuke on the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount is what it takes to bring about the Second Coming, so be it. What is coming will be so much better than what we have now.", she said. That tells me that the death of humans for them is of no consequence because they believe people are going to have an afterlife. That concept of an afterlife is also a dangerous notion. They use it as motivation for people to die in their mythological cause. They are okay with dying because they think they are going to keep living spiritually.

So this one thing, which is the first thing taught in the Bible, sets up people on a path that leads to misery for human kind. It is the foundation on which other dangerous beliefs are built. It should be something that is wholly rejected by humanity. It is the teachings of a death cult.

And we should also stand very firmly with the brave men and women in Iran who are challenging the repressive Government and take advantage of the fact that there is a historic split in the theocracy in Iran--the first time in 25 years that that's happened." My point is, whose economy are we stimulating when we do that? The Heritage Foundation did a pretty interesting study on past rebates & found it does not really stimulate the economy in the way that we hope it will. In exchange, our government gains the capacity to know who is here, why they are here, where they are, and whether they carry a communicable disease. But much of the debate has become mired more in definitions than in a real solution." ("From Hope to Higher Ground" by Mike Huckabee)

Bernie Sanders for President 2016, We Will Win!

Sander's No. 1 Obstacle May be Name Recognition

Bernie Sanders Gains Momentum, However, Hillary Clinton Still Dominates
"Sanders’ No. 1 obstacle may just be name recognition, half of those who were polled did not know enough of the Senator from Vermont."

This is why it is extremely important to get the word out there. We must tell everyone we know, and everyone we meet about Bernie Sanders For President 2016. Even if it is a passing, "Hey, have you ever heard of Bernie Sanders? He is running for president. I like what he is saying." then leave it at that. They will do the rest when they look up Bernie, and tell their friends. Snow ball rolling down hill! We're getting bigger. We Will Win!

Bernie Sanders for President 2016, We Will Win! Song

I talked to some folks while I was out. I am riding the city bus system nowdays. That gives me plenty of a chance to talk to people. Every time I met someone new I asked them if they ever heard of U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders. The results were mixed. A couple said they have heard of him, and they support him. A few said they never heard of him, so I said a few words of support hoping they go find out more. I always ended it with telling them about videos on Youtube, and the Facebook groups. A few of the people said they don't vote. When I asked them why they said it doesn't matter because all politicians are crooks.

I think that besides name recognition, getting the people to accept that Bernie Sanders is the first truly honest candidate we've had in a long time, if ever, is going to be a challenge. I really don't blame them for being cynical. For a very long time the tribal knowledge said all politicians are crooks. I know that I have had the attitude of picking the lessor of two evils for many years. I know a lot of you feel the same way. I also see opportunity too!

I might think there is a huge untapped voting block out there. One which if only we can convince them that Bernie Sanders is true, and not a crook like the rest of them. Not a bought politician who only cares about their own self, we can have even more loyal voters going to the polls voting for our man.

So without becoming argumentative because that only causes them to throw up walls and become defensive, I would tell them I understand where they are coming from. I explained how I too believe they are a bunch of crooks, until now. I told them I think one has finally stood out to me who I really don't think is a crook, and encouraged them to give Bernie a look see.

I think a lot of the voter apathy is the Republican parties fault. Never have I seen a bigger bunch of crooks. I'm not letting the democratic party off the hook either. They've done plenty to cause this perception of the "crooked politician". It is part of the American lexicon. So we have our work cut out for us big time.

Discussing Religion, Politics and Now Science are Taboo & and That Hurts Us

My family doesn't discuss politics and religion, I think. Well, at least I don't discuss these topics with any of them. The reason is because I am on the left, and most of them are on the right. I've had problems with several of my family because even though I try to remain calm, and discuss different points of view with them, sometimes I run into an attitude of disrespect, or down right smart aleckness. I seem to see a disturbing trend though.

It is the expansion of that policy into other areas, like science. I am an advocate of open, reasoned, respectful and free discussion of any topic among all people, family included. The very second that discussion is not allowed about any topic, there is a problem. Even though the topic may not be discussed, people are still thinking about it. When a topic is not allowed to be discussed, it means people have already made up their minds about it, and are unwilling to accept any evidence that would challenge their world view. When people are unwilling to discuss ideas about anything, minds are closed and the learning stops. This is a problem when it comes to religion and politics. It is a tragedy if the topic is science.

Our entire nation seems to be split right down the middle now days when it comes to all three of those topics, politics, religion and science. We have people on one side advocating a political stance on the far right, and others advocating a stance on the far left. Religion influencing the opinion of one side, and the other. The same religious influences effect even the opinion of persons when it comes to the validity of scientific consensus. This becomes dangerous territory because now we have persons on the right calling human made climate change science a hoax, when the overwhelming scientific consensus is that humans are indeed effecting the climate in a negative way. That doesn't matter though. There are a lot of people who are absolutely convinced that all of it is some kind of hoax perpetrated by persons who want to take over the world, or rune the economy, or another nefarious plan.

Not only is our world's ecosystem being affected by the lack of conversation on a rational , respectful basis, but also medicine as well. People can not discuss topics like abortion or evolution without vitriolic words being exchanged. The thought is "I know what I know, and nothing will ever change that." I have actually been told those very words! In my opinion that is truly a sad state of affairs indeed. What if everyone had the same attitude? Look at the disease, measles. People read a bogus article, written by a shyster and debunked, but are unwilling to accept the truth of the matter. Why is that? The only explanation I can think of is because of some kind of prideful sense of self importance. The people who are the so called "anti-vaxxers" have invested themselves into the idea that vaccines cause autism. Now they, not wanting to be incorrect because of that need for importance, will not accept any new information to the contrary. So people get sick, children die and our civilization is harmed.

That's what happens when conversation stops. I would even wager there will be people who will read this and think that even the idea of open conversation shouldn't be discussed. It would upset their world view that religion, politics and science should be discussed. Someone may get offended. I go back to the idea that they get offended because of that false pride, born of self importance. People want to be viewed as smart and wise. They're unwilling to accept any notion that they may be incorrect about anything, ever! So we better shut down communication.

I will request now that our people stop this absurd lack of communication. It is counterproductive in the extreme. Please discuss respectfully any topic that interests you with other people. Please resist the temptation to use comments that inflame tensions. Use tact, logic and reason to validate your understanding. If you find that you're mistaken about some thing, be willing to modify your world view. That is how humanity advances. That is why humanity has got as far as it has. Because people were willing to learn from one another and abandon incorrect knowledge about our universe, and accept the truth.

There was a time in our society when we did have open discussion about science. At the same time the topic of religion was still taboo, that is unless the person with whom you spoke agreed with everything you said. People used to respect science and learning, that is until the science started butting heads with "I know what I know". Now science is being pushed into the same league of taboo subjects. It is even in effect in the schools. This lack of communication must end, before the net effect is that it ends us.

Humans Blog Endorses Senator Bernie Sanders for President

I have been thinking of Presidential Candidates for some time now. For a while all there were totally unacceptable Republican persons announcing their campaign. Persons like Ted Cruz, Chris Christie and Rand Paul. Their throwing the hat into the ring was laughable. I couldn't fathom any person of reason supporting them. Amazingly enough though, there are mindless zombie minds who follow in step with all their lies and psychopathic babbling.

Then Hillary Clinton became the Democratic person of choice for many people, and she announced her candidacy. I couldn't get behind her because of one reason. Our nation is already divided enough without her controversial presences in the election process. Not like it is her fault, or anything. It is totally the GOP/Tea Parties unwarranted, and constant blowing out of proportion of anything she had even the slightest part in. Like a mean Chihuahua dog nipping at the heels of  anybody just for the meanness of it, they do it for reasons I am unsure of. The most likely reason is they are against her because she isn't a white male. Remember the mantra "Take back the White House". It is code for, we don't want any person other than a white male in the Oval Office. I believe her Presidency would be even more of a cause of dysfunction in government than anything else.

There is one person who has announced his candidacy that stands out as the best person for the job. That person is Senator Bernie Sanders. He has time and again got behind, and supported education, investment in our crumbling infrastructure, human rights and the caring for and lifting up of the poor and elderly. He has confronted big money in politics, and brought out the truth of the matter. He has worked to combat climate change, and isn't afraid to take the big energy producers to task.

I endorse and lend 100% of my support to Senator Bernie Sanders for President of the United States.

I've set up a Facebook Group, New Mexico for Bernie Sanders President 2016 to help bring support to the cause. Please join it, or set up a Facebook Group for your state that is pro-Bernie Sanders.

Please view some of his speeches before the Senate and other places, and consider carefully his words. I think you'll be impressed, and will feel comfortable backing him up.

The Hypocracy of the Draw Muhammad Event

"The host of the Texas "Draw Muhammad" contest that ended with police killing two armed gunman outside called for more, similar events as a defense of free speech."

I think she is a trouble maker. I think she knows that her actions could cause trouble. I do not condone the actions of the gunmen who were killed during the "Draw Mohammed" event. I think it is insane to kill people over drawings of a dead man, and they got what they bought into. Still one doesn't get into a psychopaths face and insult him, then complain about your "freedom of speech" being violated when they do some kind of psychopathic response to the provocation. They got what they bought into.

Like yesterday, I was wearing my Lynyrd Skynyrd t-shirt downtown when a young fellow said to me, "Nice t-shirt." to which I replied "Thank you". He then said "Lynyrd Skynyrd fucking sucks!" There can be only one reason he said it. He was trying to provoke me. I didn't let his comment bother me. I remember laughing to myself thinking "I bet his opinion matters to a lot of people, NOT". Had I been another person, one prone to violence, I might of lashed out at him. Get the picture?

Speaking of pictures. I wonder if the trouble makers, purposefully provoking psychopathic believers in myth would defend the freedom of speech of artist Leon Ferrari's "The Virgin Mary in a blender" or "Saints in a frying pan"?

"The Argentine artist Leon Ferrari was perhaps best known for his seemingly blasphemous works. The Virgin Mary in a blender? Check. Saints in a frying pan? He did that too. Jorge Mario Bergoglio, a man we now know as Pope Francis, demanded that a 2004 retrospective in Buenos Aires featuring Ferrari’s work be closed immediately, saying it represented a “blasphemous affront.” A judge agreed, but not before a group of Christians could destroy several works. A different judge later overturned the decision to close the exhibit, citing the importance of free expression in his ruling."

12 “blasphemous” artworks censored or vandalized by angry believers

Maybe it is another misguided attempt by Ultra-Right Christians to bring about their Humanity ending Apocalyptic vision, by goading on people so they can provoke a holy war.

End-Times Prophecy is The Most Deadly Threat to Human Existence Ever Known

Yesterday I was treated to a conversation that opened my eyes wider than they were. It was with a person who one would think had a high degree of intelligence. A veteran of the US Army, who attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In civilian life that is roughly equivalent to a Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, or Program Director. As far as I can ascertain, "An individual must meet all of the following requirements before the application is submitted."

 Candidates must:
  • Possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, and meet minimum standards for the proficiency of executive core qualifications competencies
  • Have extensive demonstrated leadership experience
  • Have Completed the CES Advanced Course or Advanced Course equivalent
  • Have a Secret clearance (with a pending application for a Top Secret clearance) that will not expire during the program. A copy of the clearance must be submitted with the application.
Even though this person seems to have a high degree of intelligence, they also seem to have bought into one of the most dangerous, suicidal, and insane philosophies on the planet. What that person told me confirmed my suspicions in a most graphic, and horrific way. I'm referring to the Christian Apocalyptic End-Times Prophecies and their adherents infiltration into positions of power within our government.

I warned you before that you should abandon the dangerous religions which originated in the Middle East. I can now see that this abandonment of that insane myth is not only advisable but also imperative. It is not only necessary for sanity's sake, but also for humanity's survival's sake.

Reject the Dangerous Religions of the Middle-East: All of Them

This former Lieutenant Colonel, who I will refer to as "LC", and I were discussing religion when the topic turned to the end-times prophecies of the Christian Bible. I, being an atheist, voiced my concern for the support of Israel by American Christians for the sole purpose of bringing about their apocalyptic vision of Armageddon. I mentioned that they wish to rebuild the Temple on the Mount because they believe that Jesus will not make his "Second Coming" until that happens. Of how this rebuilding of the Temple could not occur unless the Dome of the Rock was demolished to make way. Of how that demolition's consequences would likely lead to WWIII, and doom human civilization. I mentioned the fact that during the 6 Day War, the United States and the former Soviet Union stood toe to toe ready to unleash their nuclear arsenals.

When it became clear that Israel would not give up its siege of the Egyptian troops (low on food and medicine by this time), the Soviets threatened to take unilateral action to rescue them. Tempers flared both in Washington and Moscow; U.S. military forces went to a Stage 3 alert (Stage 5 is the launch of nuclear attacks).

LC's reply was that of insanity. LC waved arms in the air and proclaimed "If dropping a nuke on the Temple Mount was the only way to bring the return of Jesus, so be it. The promise of what would come is so much better than this life, and I feel sorry for them who would be left behind." I replied, "That is the notion of a death cult, and I reject it in its entirety. It is suicidal on a planetary basis, insane in its foundations and I too would be sorry for them left behind to pick up the pieces. There would be billions of dead for nothing, and civilization would be in ruins for a myth."

Hiroshima Bomb Aftermath
There are not many of us alive today with living memory of the nuclear attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, or of its horrible aftermath. Keep in mind that those two bombs pale in comparison to the power of the nuclear devices, and their pinpoint accuracy of today. I give you a warning that this is the vision Christian lunatics have for us all! They not only want it, but they also pray for it every day. Their so-called "Divine Retribution" would not be confined to only two human cities, but would surly encompass a large portion of the Earth. This disgusting ideology is embraced by millions across the United States and is becoming a serious threat to human survival.

Hiroshima Bomb Aftermath
This is the fate they have in store for your children, for all of us. This insanity is advocated for the Christian, and its implications affect Christian and non-Christian alike!

LC told me in no uncertain terms that her wish for Armageddon is a selfish one because she wants to go to heaven. What if everyone else, the "sinners and non-believers" have to burn in hell for all eternity, they have brought it upon themselves and deserve that fate. Don't you think for one minute that hers was the rantings of a single psychotic individual because it is not? Her sentiment is multiplied by the millions across the planet and preached in every Christian church. This is doctrine and is taught to our adults and children to the detriment of us all. One of the worst things about it is, seldom do you hear of this global Christian conspiracy that could very well doom humanity as a species.

Now the United States government has been infiltrated by the fundamentalist ultra-right Christians who would bring their deadly agenda to fruition. This can not be allowed. This has to be resisted with all vigor until this suicidal philosophy is buried for all time.

The evil forces behind this human race ending plan are many and pervasive. Just this morning I received an email from a group calling itself "Patriot Videos; Videos that Enlighten and Enrage", Its message was that of horror.

They went on at length about the so-called biblical prophesy that has supposedly come to pass, and of the impending "End-Times". They also at the end of their filthy presentation invited you to buy their book about how to survive the holocaust to come for the low price of only $37. It bothers me greatly that this email was sent out to millions of people, let alone that it was sent out at all! I can only thank the sender for making me even more aware of their evil plan, and the urgency of the situation.

This is no joke folks. This is extremely important. All of us people of reason must fight this insanity, and get the word out as to their idiotic agenda. All of us Atheists, and other people of logic and reason, must no longer take the side of tolerance for the primitive idealism of end-times advocates. For many years now I've held the position that people of faith must be tolerated as long as they are non-violent in their practice. I can not justify that position any longer. Even though the Christian Right may outwardly project an air of non-violence, their underlying cause of planetary suicide is violent in the extreme. That is reason to reject their very existence altogether. They have been going on for years about how Christians have been attacked in media, and in-person as if they are martyred victims of injustice. In reality, Christianity as a whole must be crushed if its vision for our world is global annihilation. We must take a stand! We must no longer be silent.

They who believe in the end-times nonsense call me and people like me "Anti-Christ" as if it is a bad thing. I'm here to tell you it is not bad to oppose the Christian death cult. It is necessary for humanity's survival. They offer the peace of the promise of unthinking death. The people like me who oppose them offer the unlimited potential of human greatness, without the reliance on deadly myth.

So let us work to end their insanity and its heinous effect on our world's civilization and humanity. Firstly reject religion in any form. Embrace science and reason. Take note that LC, when I told her she should study some quantum physics and evolutionary sciences, told me she didn't bother with anything that would steer her away from "God's Mission". They would rather reject out of hand the truth than discover their religions are myths. Reject that primitive spirituality once and for all and good! Do it before it is to late for our species.
Get out there and vote! Vote for persons who embrace Secular Humanism, which leads to reason and true understanding. Vote for people who reject religion wholly. That means to reject the Tea Party, and the Republican Party they have so effectively infiltrated. Both of them are the agents of doom. Both of them work to bring about Armageddon. They don't care who they drag down onto ever-lasting death either, even if that is every man, woman, and child on the planet! That includes your child. Your mother and father. Your sister and brother, and any others yet to come. Don't allow these bringers of doom the reins of power.

Time is running out. The choice is yours. We can allow ourselves as a human species to prosper and survive, or we can sit idly by and accept oblivion. Today I choose life. I choose logic and reason over willful ignorance and myth. Today is the day to make a stand against real evil. Reject the Christian End-Times philosophy before it dooms humanity forever.
