Government Crooks are Stealing From the People

We've all heard about corporate boardrooms filled with stuffed shirts. It is common knowledge that they have major concerns. Those concerns being their own self interests first, then the interests of the stockholders. We've heard our president say that we need to run our country like a business and people voted for him because of perceived business acumen. This article addressing how the natural resources are handled causes me to look at all that in a different light.

I think the people are getting ripped off big time. Let's put together some pieces. I think everyone will pretty much agree that anything with the word "federal" is in theory supposed to be common property. If it is something (a anything) "of the United States" then "We the People" own it. Kind of like being stockholders in a public corporation. We have full voting rights too as long as we follow the rules. Rules largely written by people who own or have interests in large private corporations.

I think if Trump and other people with big money ties are looking to run the United States (people's corporation) like a business, they are running it like a business that is being raided for its assets. There are people in the United States we are trying desperately to feed, house and provide health care. We are trying to provide an education for the People. We are trying to keep all of our people out of poverty, but having a hard time paying for all of that. It's no wonder we're having a hard time paying for these basic things when the people are getting robbed blind!

If the people were getting their proper due from the extraction of natural resources, we could pay for all the social programs we need to lift people up. In reality all of the natural resources which are in their natural state are the property of all Humanity. The ground we walk on, the air we breath, the very sunlight warming our face is owned by one and all. We the People, who are voting members, or stockholders, of the United States (People's Corporation) need to rethink how these natural resources are allocated and extracted. We the People have absolute control of the who, what, where and why of natural resource extraction. It is about time We the People grabbed ahold of our lever of power and applied force. The people (stockholders) need to get their due. The people we put in charge of our United States are really working for the private corporations, not us.

Our United States should be given a mandate by We the People. That mandate should be the revocation of all private interests in all natural resources. The ownership and control of the sum total of natural resources shall be given over to We the People, as it was from the very beginning. In the beginning of Humanity there were no private ownership of natural resources except that which was gained by force or threat. That is the way of the primitives. Even an ape is capable of that primitive mode of existence. We the People can do better.

Revoking all private interests in all natural resources should cause the people to derive the greatest gain or benefit. Mining, oil, coal and even solar energy extraction should be contracted to the lowest bidder. For instance, if there is an oil deposit that the People agree should be tapped, a call for bids to extract would go out. An energy extraction company like Exxon might win the extraction contract by making the lowest bid. After winning the contract to extract, Exxon would begin the process of drilling and storage of the People's resource. In this case, oil. Once the resource is extracted, it is placed on the open market for sale by something like the "People's National Resource Stockpile". The proceeds of such sales, and this would apply to all natural resources, would go into the people's coffers. Then all of the money collected could be used to pay the extraction company for their services, clean up of any environmental issues and other programs the People agree are a proper use of these funds, like health care.

Nationalise all material resources which lay in their natural state. There is precedent for such a move already. The electromagnetic spectrum is owned by We the People and administered by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The FCC issues license to bidders who wish to use a portion of the People's electromagnetic spectrum (radio & TV) for broadcast purposes. I postulate that because sunlight is a soup of all bandwidths of the electromagnetic spectrum, it too is owned by We the People. By natural rights of ownership, We the People should derive the greatest benefit from the extraction of energy from sunlight. Same goes with all other natural resources. Anything on and off the Earth, metals, chemical compounds, minerals, energy all inclusive, as long as it lay in its natural state , it is owned by Humanity.
Oil companies are drilling on public land for the price of a cup of coffee.
Here’s why that should change.
