Lack of Common Core Values Leaves Students at Risk

I find this disturbing. Even though 85% of our nation has adopted Common Core in their schools, my state has not. When I look at where Indiana ranks in education on a national level, I can see we are at best mediocre.
Texas comes in dead last for High School graduation. We all know the awful effects of this lack of effective education there. Religious fundamentalism has caused a roll back in woman's rights, and in other areas. Religious fundamentalism relies on the populace being ignorant in order to advance its backward agenda. Indiana has followed Texas in this, and is in danger of falling further behind due to the Republican's, and the Tea Party's misguided idealism.
I constantly hear the Republican/Tea Party base blaming Muslim fundamentalism for terrorists activities, when their own Christian fundamentalism keeps holding states like Indiana and Texas back.
Why is it that these non-adopters of Common Core know so much better than the rest of the 85% of our nation? How do they justify their actions of ignoring the facts? Why are they so willing to point a finger, but not take notice of their own destructive actions?
I urge all of the people of these non-Common Core states to re-evaluate their position on this matter. This situation causes the United States as a whole to fall further behind the rest of the world.

"In mathematics, 29 nations and other jurisdictions outperformed the United States by a statistically significant margin, up from 23 three years ago," reports Education Week. "In science, 22 education systems scored above the U.S. average, up from 18 in 2009."
In reading, 19 other locales scored higher than U.S. students — a jump from nine in 2009, when the last assessment was performed.
The top overall scores came from Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Macao and Japan, followed by Lichtenstein, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Estonia.
