Senate holds hearings into how to change the Constitution to circumvent Supreme Court

"So conservatives in the Senate are now engaged in explorations as to how to change America's founding document in order to enforce social conservative morals, in addition to the already-understood rigorous corporatism, regardless of whether America's top courts find those things lawful or not. Ted Cruz would make an awfully fine leader, would he not? He could really bring Republicanism out of its Weimarian doldrums and into a new reich."

Ted Cruz wants to change the constitution in order to get his way, or rather to shove his ways down your throat. This isn't the first time he has suggested things that are so far right radical it causes me to label him "dangerous". He has also suggested people use their 2nd Amendment rights to defend themselves against an over bearing government. That government being lead by a black man named Obama, who's policies Cruz has vowed to fight at every turn.

This shows what the Republican think our government is for. It is like snatching the sheets off, and discovering something ugly under there. The Republicans use the government as a legal means to corrupt, greedy ends. More often than not, when a Republican puts in a bill to the congress or senate, it is about making lawful some activity that would normally be frowned upon. Things like drilling for oil in environmentally sensitive areas, when we know the area could be forever ruined. Another example is using the legal process to allow Wall Street to gamble with the money you deposit in your checking or saving account, and if they lose the money, the tax payer gets to foot the bill. You can find example after example of laws designed to allow either the polluting of our environment, the stealing of your money, the allowing of discrimination, the mixing of religion & government or some other unworthy thing. All of it brought to you by persons in government who believe that government is a tool for corporation's, or religion's exclusive use.

Now one of the parts of the tool doesn't want to work like the Republican's think it should. SCOTUS didn't agree with Ted Cruz and his despotic buddies. They didn't tow the line. So change the rules. EPA bothering you with pesky environmental rules? Disband the EPA. Laws were made in Washington that you don't agree with? Use your 2nd Amendment rights to defy the law. Voters in an area are not in your favor? Gerrymander the area until they are. All these things, and more are the dastardly methods of the despicable Republican party.

The Ted Cruz and the Republicans cry about the Constitution not being followed, HYPOCRITES! They don't give a damn about the Constitution, except as a legal tool for the allowing of unsavory acts. Acts that intrude onto your human rights, and shift wealth from the many to the few.

If anything needs to be changed in the constitution it is the words dealing with the Speaker of the House of Representatives. John Boehner has proven that the Speaker has way to much power.

Government Failing the People Symptom of Broken System

"As presiding office of the House of Representatives, the Speaker holds a variety of powers over the House and is the highest-ranking legislative official in the US government. The Constitution does not spell out the political role of the Speaker. Tradition has molded the position into what it is today. The Speaker in the United States, by tradition, is the head of the majority party in the House of Representatives, outranking the Majority Leader. However, despite having the right to vote, the Speaker usually does not participate in debate and rarely votes.

The Speaker is responsible for ensuring that the House passes legislation supported by the majority party. In pursuing this goal, the Speaker may use his or her power to determine when each bill reaches the floor. They also chair the majority party's steering committee in the House. The Speaker is tasked with pushing through the agenda of the majority party, often at the expense of the minority opposition. As the highest-ranking member of the opposition party (and in effect a de facto Leader of the Opposition), the Speaker is normally the chief public opponent of the President's agenda. In this scenario, the Speaker is known for undercutting the President's agenda by blocking measures by the minority party or rejecting bills by the Senate. 

The Speaker's powers and duties extend beyond presiding in the chamber. In particular, the Speaker has great influence over the committee process. The Speaker selects nine of the thirteen members of the powerful Committee on Rules, subject to the approval of the entire majority party. The leadership of the minority party chooses the remaining four members. Furthermore, the Speaker appoints all members of select committees and conference committees. Moreover, when a bill is introduced, the Speaker determines which committee will consider it.

Because joint sessions and joint meetings of Congress are held in the House chamber, the Speaker presides over all such joint sessions and meetings. The Speaker is also responsible for overseeing the officers of the House: the Clerk, the Sergeant-at-Arms, the Chief Administrative Officer, and the Chaplain. The Speaker can dismiss any of these officers. The Speaker appoints the House Historian and the General Counsel and, jointly with the Majority and Minority Leaders, appoints the House Inspector General.

This list of duties and the method employed to carry them out is a receipt for governments grinding to a halt. It is also a betrayal of trust to the American people. Even though a Republican should try to advance their cause, they still have to represent the whole of the electorate. A partisan Speaker of the House is incapable of that. The rabble get the Speakers ear, then the Speaker stubbornly tows a line even if it threatens the stability of the entire system.

Given such awesome powers as held by the Speaker of the House, I think we should of learned a lesson from the last few years. That lesson being, a partisan Speaker of the House is a bad idea. We should embrace the notion that our Speaker of the House of Representatives should be strictly non-partisan. The person chosen should renounce all allegiances to any party, and instead focus on the people's business in the House. That should be their over riding concern, the smooth functioning of the House of Representatives. Our nation needs to implement a Westminster Style Speaker of the House.

If our nation had a Speaker of the House that were non-partisan, we wouldn't have to suffer threats of government shutdown born of political party infighting. The People of the United States deserve better than that. The people expect better performance from their elected officials. The people are disturbed by the wasting of billions of tax payer dollars on setting up programs, only to disband the program later because of political rivalry. The people are the ones most effected by government malfunction. The people are the ones the elected must answer to. The people see a major flaw in our political system, and desire to remedy that flaw. It would take nothing less than a Constitutional Amendment to get the job done. Still it must be done."

The Speaker of the House partisan roll is the #1 reason we have such a problem. I call on our nation to adopt a Westminster Style Speaker of the House, making that position strictly a non-partisan seat. I believe this would solve a lot of problems with our broken House of Representatives."

Bernie Sanders said "Think Big", Nothing is Bigger Than Space Colonization

During the banking crisis the treasury made $16 trillion in low interest loans to the very banks that caused the problem in the first place. It cost our nation $176 billion (2009 dollars) for the cost of Apollo and other space related things in the time frame of 1962 to 1972. $16 trillion could have supported 91 times the NASA effort had back during the 1962-1972 space effort.

At its peak, the Apollo program employed 400,000 Americans and required the support of over 20,000 industrial firms and universities. 400,000 X 91 = 36,400,000 jobs

12 million persons were unemployed in 2009 at the peak of the recession. I hope you see where I'm going with this. We were taken to the cleaners big time. Our nation spent all that money, fiat money, and have precious little to show for it. Well, maybe the top mega-rich have something to show for it, but not the little guy.

The pictures following is my vision of what we can do with 91 Apollo size projects going at the same time. Once it is going good, it continues to build on itself. Unlimited potential. Seems to me a better thing for our nation than throwing money down a bottomless Wall Street pit.

Our man Bernie Sanders said to think big. He said there is nothing we can not accomplish. Okay, I know we can do this, and this is as big as it gets, well at least until we take the next step, star travel.

President Kennedy's Moon Speech in the 21st Century

As presidential candidate Bernie Sanders says, "The greed of corporate America and the billionaire class has got to end, and we are going to end it for them." I am in favor of this ending of the greed culture too! Still, that is far from being enough.

Now I borrow the speech given by president John F Kennedy May 25, 1961, President Kennedy gave this historic speech before a joint session of Congress that set the United States on a course to the moon. I borrow it and expand on it for the 21st century.

Now it is time to take longer strides--time for a great new American enterprise--time for this nation to take a clearly leading role in space achievement, which in many ways holds the key to our future on earth. Our presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders said we need to think big. My fellow citizens, this is about as big as it gets.

I believe we possess all the resources and talents necessary. But the facts of the matter are that we have never made the national decisions or marshaled the national resources required for such leadership. We have never specified long-range goals on an urgent time schedule, or managed our resources and our time so as to insure their fulfillment.

Recognizing the head start we have in space, we nevertheless are required to make new efforts on our own. For while we cannot guarantee that we shall one day be first, we can guarantee that any failure to make this effort will make us last, or even doom our species. We take an additional risk by making it in full view of the world, but as shown by the feat of brave astronauts, this very risk enhances our stature when we are successful. Space is open to us now more than ever before; and our eagerness to share its meaning is not governed by the efforts of others. We go into space and make human presence there permanent because whatever mankind must undertake, free men must fully share. Then our species survival can be further enhanced and assured.

I therefore ask the President, Congress and the people of the United States to raise above and beyond the decreases in funding I have seen for space activities, to provide the funds which are needed to meet the following national goals:

First, I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before another decade is out, of landing a human on Mars and returning him/her safely to the Earth, and before the century is out, of building civilization on Mars with a population of at least 100,000 human beings. As we do this effort we must also build bases on the moon, and space stations in orbit around the moon, Earth and Mars. No space project in this, the 21st century, will be more impressive to mankind, more lasting in human memory, or more important for the long-range exploration of space, our long term economic growth and to help assure the survival and well being of humanity into the distant future; and none will be so difficult or expensive to accomplish, and rewarding. We propose to accelerate the development of the appropriate lunar and Mars deep space craft. We propose additional funds for other engine, and spacecraft development and for unmanned explorations. 5 trillion dollars should be allocated for the first Mars missions and starter bases.

Secondly, an additional 250 billion dollars will accelerate development of a nuclear rocket. This gives promise of speedy means of travel to Mars, and for even more exciting and ambitious exploration of space beyond the moon and Mars, to the very end of the solar system itself.

Third, an additional 500 billion dollars will make the most of our present leadership, by accelerating the use of present facilities to open enrollment into the newly founded free national educational systems envisioned by Sen. Bernie Sanders. This will provide the many skilled hands and minds needed to accomplish this great goal.

Fourth, an additional 2 trillion dollars will will be allocated for the development of asteroidal materials mining and processing.

Fifth, 1.5 trillion dollars will be allocated to the building of Earth based infrastructure needed for this project, (including national roads, bridges and other aspects of our national infrastructure, and for the retrofitting of currently operating space facilities.

Sixth, 2 trillion dollars will be provided to develop orbital solar arrays, and the ground based power collection grids we need to break the strangle hold of fossil fuels, which is becoming a dire threat to the stability of human civilization because of global warming.

Let it be clear--and this is a judgment which the Members of the Congress must finally make--let it be clear that I am asking the Congress and the country to accept a firm commitment to a new course of action, a course which will last for many decades and carry very heavy costs. If we are to go only half way, or reduce our sights in the face of difficulty, in my judgment it would be better not to go at all, and accept our fate on Earth.

Now this is a choice which this country must make, and I am confident that under the leadership of the Space Committees of the Congress, and the Appropriating Committees, that the people will consider the crucial matter carefully.

It is a most important decision that we make as a nation. But all of you have lived through the last five decades and have seen the significance of space and the adventures in space, and no one can predict with certainty what the ultimate meaning will be of mastery of space. One thing for sure is that it will be for the betterment of humanity to expand into the cosmos now.

I believe we should go to Mars. But I think every citizen of this country as well as the Members of the Congress should consider the matter carefully in making their judgment, to which we have given attention over many years and months, because it is a heavy burden, and there is no sense in agreeing or desiring that the United States take an affirmative position in outer space, unless we are prepared to do the work and bear the burdens to make it successful.

This decision demands a major national commitment of scientific and technical manpower, materiel and facilities, and the possibility of their diversion from other important activities where they are already thinly spread. It means a degree of dedication, organization and discipline which have not been seen since our research and development efforts on the extremely successful Apollo Program. It means we cannot afford undue work stoppages, inflated costs of material or talent, wasteful inter-agency rivalries, political interference or a high turnover of key personnel.

New objectives and new money cannot solve these problems. They could in fact, aggravate them further--unless every scientist, every engineer, every serviceman, every technician, contractor, and civil servant gives his personal pledge that this nation will move forward, with the full speed of freedom, in the exciting adventure of space industrialization and colonization.

This is an expensive proposition with my very rough estimate of $10 trillion, but it is necessary to secure our nations long term future into the next century. This should be no problem for a country of our wealth. If we can find the national will to bail out greedy Wall Street bankers to the tune of $16 trillion in 2008, we can find the will to invest on a project like the one proposed here that has real returns. We can make the initial costs in fiat money, then pay it back with interest with platinum mined from asteroids.

Veterans Administration Ending Hepatitis C Treatments

There is something going on at the Veterans Hospital that is making me angry. It should damn well make you angry too! The Republican driven budget cuts to the warriors of our nation are having deadly effect NOW!  It is a betrayal of our citizen soldiers. Let me explain.

Hepatitis C (HCV) is a dangerous illness that kills many people by attacking the cells of their liver. After a number of years, and with no symptoms, HCV can cause cirrhosis and cancer of the liver, leading to an untimely and painful death. This is a blood born illness, and can only be transmitted by blood to blood contact. Being such, our military have a higher incidence of HCV than the general population. Also it is suspected that many thousands of troops were inadvertently infected with HCV as a result of the use of Jet Guns for inoculations.

I had hepatitis C. The Veterans Hospital helped me rid my body of that horrible virus. It wasn't easy either. I had to take a combination of antiviral drugs called Ribavirin and Interferon. The side effects were hell on Earth, but it did cure me after a grueling 48 week treatment. People have it much better now a days. There is a new drug that is way more effective, takes less time, and with less side effects to cure people of HCV. That miracle drug is Sovaldi.

There seems to be a big problem with this drug even with its amazing effectiveness. It has a super high cost. In the United States, Sovaldi costs $1,000 a pill, or $84,000 for a typical 12-week course of treatment. Our government was able to pull off a deal with the makers of this drug, Gilead Sciences. They are only charging the VA $540 per pill. That still translates to $45,360 for one drug to treat one veteran for hepatitis C. That doesn't even account for the other drugs that must be taken along with Sovaldi, or the other services that must be rendered.

Now we have Republicans, who don't care one iota for veterans except as a tool to secure oil, cutting money to care for them. Then while leaving our Vets hanging, they offer huge tax cuts to the richest people in our civilization. The very people, who the Vets helped to get all those billions of dollars, paid super-Pacs to influence congress to do this despicable thing. This is a slap in the face of the veterans, and now the effects are becoming evident.

I met with a friend who wanted to tell me something yesterday. It had to do with this issue. This person, who asked not to be identified, is directly involved with the Veterans Administration Hepatitis C program. I was told by them that the VA is cutting the Hepatitis C program because it can no longer be afforded. So my big question is, why is it that Gilead Sciences, for the very same drug, sells it for less than $1,800 for a 24-week course of treatment in India? I don't want anyone in India to suffer, but they aren't any more deserving than our Veterans. They didn't put their lives on the line so companies like Gilead Sciences can be free to operate. So why do they get special treatment, and our Veterans get a boot in the ass?

This isn't a freaken game here! People, our warriors, are going to die from liver cancer and/or other complications of HCV because of the Republican zeal to serve their corporate masters. I'll tell you as a Veteran. I would rather a bomb hit me point blank in battle, than to be taken by some minuscule speck. To be taken by some viral agent years after the battle has ended is like sweet revenge for the enemy. That enrages me. It should you too!

A lot of the time when I am at the VA, I meet homeless Veterans. I met one yesterday that struck a cord in me. He was sitting there on the bench looking like he had been homeless for a while. I doubt he was any older than 25. He had a bottle of hot sauce it looked like, and was putting some in his hand and licking it. After a few minutes he asked me if I could spare some change so he could get some chips. I emptied all I had in my pockets of change for him. We talked for a bit too.

I asked him about himself, and also asked if he had ever heard of Bernie Sanders. When I meet a homeless person, and especially when a Vet I tell them of Bernie Sanders. I ask them to register to vote and vote for our man Bernie because it is these very same people who need the help the most. Getting those jobs back from China and Vietnam and the other places, along with the other things we'll do with Bernie Sanders will help get homeless people back the jobs they deserve to have as Americans. There is a vast ocean of voters out there in the homeless and dispossessed. Don't ignore them. Embrace them as the brothers and sisters they are. As American as any one of you, and just as deserving of a fair break.

The young, homeless Veteran I talked to told me he has hepatitis C. He found out when he was donating blood plasma for money, as so many homeless people do. Now that he is a known carrier of HCV he will never be able to give plasma, therefore he loses a vital, and maybe last stream of cash available to him. I know this stuff is true because the same thing happened to me. If it wasn't for food stamps I would of starved, but that is another issue, but still connected.

I don't know how the young Veteran became homeless, and I didn't ask. All I knew was that there was a young citizen warrior on the ropes. Someone who just like me only a few years ago, desperately needed help. I got the impression he wasn't informed as to the help he can get, so I told him to get in there and see the doctor. I told him of how they cured me of HCV, and the other things the VA did to help me survive. While telling him of the things he could take advantage of, I seen something that was wonderful. I seen hope.

Damn it guys! If one of our fellows is sitting there homeless on a bench, eating hot sauce because that is all he has left, Veteran or not we have a moral obligation to help them. It is not a choice to make. It is a requirement.

The Republican Party, and billionaires like the Koch brothers, have betrayed our people, and our Veterans. They have purposefully, and for greedy purpose conspired to withhold from the people their birthright as Americans. Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness seems to be something that only a part of our society is allowed. If a poor man like myself can empty out his pockets for a homeless brother sitting on a bench eating hot sauce, billionaires and millionaires can help take care of our fellows too!

Support Bernie Sanders for President. Register to vote if you haven't already, then vote for Democratic Senators and Congresspersons. Write, or call your representatives in government and demand that this Republican caused nightmare for our Veterans be stopped, and that the Veterans Administration's Hepatitis C program, and the others be fully funded. Urge our people in government to use 28 USC 1498 to force Gilead Sciences to stop gouging our nation to care for her Vets. Get angry! Get proactive! 

Washington Post Spreads Misinformation About Bernie Sanders by using Questionable Sources

Okay guys, this is a long one. So please bare with me, and see what we're up against.

George F. Will of the Washington Post writes, "This means three things — heavy government regulation of commercial activities, government provision of a “social safety net” and redistribution of wealth through progressive taxation and entitlement programs."

It is statements like this that angers me when I read them. Let me explain why. For one, industry hasn't been very responsible with our environment. Our people have had to fight to keep clean drinking water, and breathable air. I remember when I was 8 years old and looked into the Milwaukee River and seen the scum of pollution and dead fish who were its victims. I remember the stink of it. There was a time when the air in a lot of major cities was a serious health hazard. We fought for a change, and got the EPA. Industry had to be forced to act responsibly. Still we have to keep a weary eye on them every waking moment because a lot of them shirk the rules, and try to dump their toxins into OUR environment. I've personally seen it when I worked for the aircraft industry. I have seen Alodine washed into an unprotected ditch when I worked on the C-130 in Lake City Florida.

Alodine is a highly toxic substance. It is a chromate conversion coating for aluminum, contains chromium(IV) oxide, barium nitrate, sodium silicofluoride and ferricyanide. When I was a young man back in 1983, and not so informed, we took wing sections out to a spot to apply this toxic brew. There was 55 gal. barrels of it with a mop. We would slop the Alodine onto our wing section, then hose it off with water. The runoff went into a unprotected ditch. We did this over and again. I bet the ditch is still contaminated by that hazardous chemical. Check out this MSDS info on it;

Koch Brothers

Then he goes on to talk of the "redistribution of wealth through progressive taxation and entitlement programs." The goons in the Republican party, backed by persons like the billionaire Koch Brothers, who themselves have been fined on more than one occasion for pollution our environment, have been successful at redistributing wealth for many years. With all the tax loopholes, tax breaks and government subsidies the wealth has been redistributed from the middle-class to the top 1%.

We all know what they mean by "entitlement programs". They mean Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. The Republicans and the top 1% act like money is being taken out of their pocket when anyone collects on that social pact. They want to eliminate it entirely. In the mean time the despotic Plutocrats get big tax breaks paid for by everyone else, while they scream that "entitlement programs" are bankrupting America. It is a bald-faced lie, and you should reject their pretzel logic once and for all.

Rush Limbaugh

Don't feel bad when you collect on the promise of Social Security. You paid for it, and earned it through your service to our civilization. When anyone says "entitlement programs" as if it is some kind of curse word, you can rest assured they are another mindless thrall, who allows boneheads like Rush Limbaugh tell them how to think.

So we have a “social safety net”. What is so bad about that? Would the greedy, heartless 1% rather people starve in the streets? "Reduce the surplus population of the Earth" is how Mr. Scrooge put it, and aptly too. This is the mind set of the 1% now days.

I say some more "socialism" is called for. The protection of "socialist" programs we already have is called for. I say it because the people entrusted with the betterment of our civilization have done a piss poor job of it.

Look, it is okay to be a rich person. It is not okay to kick a man when he is down just to get another dollar. It is not okay to eat 1000 times what a person can consume, and begrudge our fellow countrymen and women, children and elderly, the sick and infirm a crumb. That is not what my America looks like.

The Republican party uses deception and misdirection as a favorite tool all the time, and this article is no different. The author of the piece in question, George F. Will wrote, "Sanders, who thinks European social democracies are exemplary, evidently thinks America should be more like Greece."

Not once in all the time I've been reviewing Mr. Sanders speeches and writings have I heard him say he wants America to be like Greece. I could have no other conclusion than that, George F. Will is lying. What else can I think? If I am wrong about that, please show me where Mr. Sanders said he wants our nation to be like Greece.

1980 Ronald Reagan presidential campaign

Will helped Ronald Reagan prepare for his 1980 debate against Jimmy Carter. Immediately after the debate, Will—not yet a member of the ABC News staff—appeared on ABC's Nightline. He was introduced by host Ted Koppel, who said "It's my understanding that you met for some time yesterday with Governor Reagan", and that Will "never made any secret of his affection" for the Republican candidate. Will did not explicitly disclose that he had assisted Reagan's debate preparation, or been present during it. He went on to praise Reagan, saying his "game plan worked well. I don't think he was very surprised".[31]

2009 global sea ice level

In a Washington Post column which expressed doubt over the effects of global warming, Will stated that: "According to the University of Illinois' Arctic Climate Research Center, global sea ice levels now equal those of 1979".[35] This and several other claims attracted the attention of environmentalists, such as British author and activist George Monbiot.[36] Asked to respond, the website of Arctic Climate Research at the University of Illinois states that: "We do not know where George Will is getting his information, but our data shows that on February 15, 1979, global sea ice area was 16.79 million sq. km and on February 15, 2009, global sea ice area was 15.45 million sq. km. Therefore, global sea ice levels are 1.34 million sq. km less in February 2009 than in February 1979".[37] Will responded in a column that he accurately reported the Center's information and the challenge was mistaken.[38] This drew a second response from George Monbiot, who insisted Will had not accurately reported the Center's information.[39] The debate continued in several forums, including a subsequent op-ed by Chris Mooney published in The Washington Post challenging Will's assertions.[40]

Rape victimization comments

Will's 6 June 2014 newspaper column about "the supposed campus epidemic of rape" was widely criticized,[41] with U.S. senators and feminists taking Will to task. Wrote Will, "...when [colleges and universities] make victimhood a coveted status that confers privileges, victims proliferate."[42] Will's column sparked an outcry on Twitter, with rape victims recounting their stories of sexual assault and violence.[43] "It takes a particular kind of ignorance to argue that people who come forward to report being raped in college are afforded benefits of any kind," wrote Jessica Valenti in The Guardian."[44] In an open letter to Will, Senators Richard Blumenthal, Dianne Feinstein, Tammy Baldwin and Bob Casey wrote, "Your column suggests that we — including some of us who have worked on this issue for many years – all have missed a subculture on college campuses where survivors of sexual assault are inducted into a privileged class. The culture you described is so antiquated, so counter-intuitive and so contrary to anything we heard that we hope you will make an effort to hear the stories survivors bravely shared with us about the struggles they face in addressing what has happened to them — often with little meaningful assistance from authorities expected to help them."[45] The St. Louis Post-Dispatch dropped Will's column from its pages as a result of the column. "The column was offensive and inaccurate; we apologize for publishing it," editor Tony Messenger wrote.[46] Will responded to the senators in his blog.[47]

2014 Ebola spread claim

In 2014, Will claimed that Ebola could be spread via sneezing, contrary to settled science which say that Ebola can only be spread by direct contact with infected bodily fluids.[48] The comments occurred in a context of Republican criticism of the Obama administration's handling of the 2014 Ebola virus epidemic in West Africa. Politifact rated Will's claim as "False".[49]

Given all that, I would put him next to the Republican machine as another purveyor of false information designed to fool people into voting against their own best interests. That makes him like Rush Limbaugh, or any of the other big money thralls.

This is what we're up against. I think the American people have had enough of their blatant lies, propaganda and misdirection. It is our task to counter their criminal behavior with the truth. We must bring forth the truth in a manner that shows honor, and dignity. We must research the lies and uncover the truth. Use logic, reason and knowledge to change our world for the better, and to deny them who would selfishly try to take what we and our ancestors fought and died for.

We Will Win this battle. As long as we don't give up, or lose hope, we with strong hearts that beat as one, will win. We just have too!

Support Bernie Sanders and Lay Away Fear

May be true that is what Mr. Colbert is saying. I hope that is what he is saying, that we need to vote for Bernie Sanders for President. He is part of my generation, the baby boomers. He was born in 1964, the very last year of the baby boomers. If all that he said is true, I must be an anomaly because I don't believe any of the things he says in this picture message. I believe all of those things can be done, and more.

Colbert

I have to admit, it sickens me when I hear one of my generation say anything like that. We can't do this, or that. For corn's sake, we watched as humans first set foot on the moon! We took part in the digital revolution! We seen cancer go from a death sentence, to curable. Personally, I went from living in a house that was heated with a pot belly stove, and washing in a galvanized tub to seeing refrigerators that tell you when you're low on milk. So how did the baby boomers get so cynical, as Mr. Colbert alludes to?

If that's the way all my baby boomer brothers and sisters think, I have one thing to say to them. SNAP OUT OF IT! If we can't do this or that, it is because we will not allow ourselves too. So stop being such naysayers. We humans are capable of great things.

The late Napoleon Hill said, “Whatever your mind can conceive and believe the mind can achieve regardless of how many times you may have failed in the past.” It’s one of the most famous inspirational quotes on the power of positive thinking. We must recapture that power we once held so dear. This dive into negativity. This embracing of fear. This wallowing in despair must come to an end, and it can. All we have to do is believe in the power of the human ability to achieve great things, then act on it. Danger be damned. Negativity traded for positive action and despair switched off in favor of hope. We humans can have it all if we only earnestly try.

We can't do it by playing it safe. We have to take bold, and sometimes dangerous chances if we're going to fulfill our promise of greatness as a species. Just look at one of my favorite examples of this, Christopher Columbus. As he and his three ships and crew made way across unknown waters, do you think it was without fear? From what I've read, I seen plenty of fear. Fear of sea monsters and falling off the edge of the world. Starvation and dying from lack of water were all to real to them. Columbus was faced with mutiny because of his crew's fear. He had to make a pact with them, three days more is all he asked. They pushed on and conquered their fear. Now look what has been had by humanity 524 years later. Like I said, we've seen humans set foot on the moon.

So let's get behind a leader who does have hope, and vision. Let's get behind a human who hasn't given up. One who wants to take on the fight. Let us conquer our fear, and do the great things. I for one, believe Bernie Sanders is the new great leader. He has vision, and a path for human greatness. Should he fall, another will step up. They must for humanities sake. We must back great vision for human greatness by backing the proper person, like Bernie Sanders.

We can end racial tension. We can get money out of politics. We can lower the world's carbon emissions. All of it can be done, and more. It is we who will do it. Not just the baby boomers either. It will take the efforts of all our living generations boldly crossing unknown waters without fear.
